ZT0606, who's on board?

It's unfortunate but as long as folks continue to pay these prices it'll keep happening

One already sold yesterday for $950... So...

Honestly, I can't hate on people for selling limited editions for a profit. I wouldn't have made it this far into the knife hobby had I not sold a couple knives for a profit a few years back. Not to mention in this case it's limited edition productions. It's not like we're talking about a rare custom.

That being said, I can't wait to receive my 0606CF today. The mail carrier can't get here soon enough!

There's only every one or two suckers who pay those crazy prices, then they level out.

There's no way that's going to be the average resell price.

You're probably right. I think some people get so caught up in the hype that they're willing to spend absurd prices for some of these models.

This was pretty amusing in the case of the 0801BRZ. Folks were selling them for over $300 on the Exchange while they were still available at online retailers.

There's also the off chance the buyer is a flake or a scammer hiding behind ebay protection, in which case no sticker price would deter them.

Or it was a fake bid to drive the price of his other pieces up. Fake sell the first one for $950 so you can list all the others at $800 and make it seem like a deal.

looking at them on the ZT website I was kind of "Meh, ain't doing much for me." but seen one with better photography changed that. they're gorgeous...!

She's a purdy one. That's for sure.

This baby flips hard and is quite smooth. Definitely not the smoothest I've felt (blade won't fall under it's own weight) but it's still up there. The one gripe I have is that the pivot isn't user serviceable. For some reason I thought the inside of the pivot was a hex shape to allow for adjustment. Unfortunately, that's not the case.

Just got mine, I can honestly say without a doubt this is the finest ZT'S I've ever seen, I'm talking up there with the 0777, maybe even better. On a funnier note the certificate of authenticity says the blade steel is cts-204p. I wonder how that slipped past them

Oh snap! I hadn't noticed that.

What if it really is CTS-204P but the blade is merely marked CTS-XHP?! It's a conspiracy! [puts on tinfoil hat]

Does the blade say CTS-XHP?

The blade falling under it's own weight is exactly a sign of smoothness as much as it is a sign of less lockbar tension.

IIRC, RJ Martin actually prefers that his knives not fall under the weight of the blade to prevent accidents.

True. I guess I've been spoiled by Shirogorovs, their crazy bearing systems, and impeccably tuned knives.

At any rate, after flipping my 0606CF quite a bit it seems like the action has smoothed out just a bit more. I'm undecided on whether or not this knife will be a keeper since the pivot isn't user serviceable and it's quite heavy. Still, it's a phenomenal knife.

Can somebody post pic of knife next to ruler from tip @0 to the end of cutting edge, what is size of actual cutting edge? How much of cutting edge is lost on finger choil?

You might want to get in touch with ZT first but it looks like snap ring pliers would make short work of it if you really wanted to. RJ does not recommend owners tear down his knives. He has his maintenance process listed on his website. It memory serves me it's basically wash with hot soapy water, blow it out, add lube, blow out the excess lube and you're done.

My apologies for the reflection off the ruler in the second pic. Looks like the sharpened length is just under 3 5/8", so the choil takes up the remaining 3/8" of the 4" blade.
