ZT0606, who's on board?

I'd rather have a misprinted COA than the steel not be what the blade marking says it is. You'd think that would go without saying but as recent events have shown...

I'm still (impatiently) waiting on mine. I'm cheap and went with the free shipping option, so it looks like I won't have mine until tomorrow. The more I hear about the knife, the more glad I am that I jumped on board! Even with a typo on the CoA, it kinda makes the knife have some extra cool factor.

Has anyone seen a serial number higher than in the 300's? I'm trying to get a feel for how many of these are out there. I have a hunch the 0606 will become a sought after knife as the months and years go by.

Emailed KAI about it here is the response

Thank you for your email, we sincerely appreciate our ZT fans! We are sorry about the confusion on the certificates with the new 0606CF showing the incorrect steel. The person who is handling this issue is out of the office today, however if you can get me your mailing address I will get that information delivered so that we can get you a new certificate in the mail to you. Thank you again for taking the time to write, we look forward to hearing from you!

In all honesty, the misprint makes the knife more collectable. In 5-10 years it will be an enjoyable detail for someone trying to track one down.

Good thinking.

Now, in 10 years if one of us sees someone selling a 606CF with a cert that shows CTS-XHP, is it genuine?

The possibilities are endless!

Good thing I just like em' for using to cut stuff!

Great knife - I have to get a shot with the 600 and 3600 -

best

does anyone know if its possible to get a tool that will work with this pivot?
i really dont like not having the tools to take my knives apart

I really like it. It's a beautiful piece. The colors are very subdued compared to the promotional material from ZT. Then again, I was looking at it in indoor lighting. I really need to look at it in direct sunlight. Still, I think it is a gorgeous knife. The blade shape is very attractive to me and the 2-tone coloring on it accents it nicely. It feels really big in my hand, bigger than it is. Its weight is just about perfect.

I wasn't positive it was a keeper when I ordered. Now, I'm trying to think of what I should sell so I can afford to keep it. The jury is still out on all of that. But, this is definitely a finely made blade. I'm very impressed by it.

Great kitchen knife...

Try contacting Matt Martin at Vehement Knives who makes the custom pivot for ZT 060CF.

Since a Tool doesn't exist for the public for RJ customs I doubt they'll be one for these.

So far it doesn't look as though anyone has had any luck selling these knives on the secondary market yet.

There's also the off chance the buyer is a flake or a scammer hiding behind ebay protection, in which case no sticker price would deter them.

I once had a RJ Martin Oculus Dagger that I could just not afford to keep and had to sell, I sold it for around its original price ~$2100, the whole process scared the heck out of me for this very reason, especially shipping something like that. Talk about awesome though!

Not impressed. The ZT 0456 is more attractive by far and less expensive IMHO.

The 0456 is quite a pretty knife, is that the stock backspacer??

I am impressed that so far only two showed up at the Exchange.

A good number up on ebay though....

YHO is wrong. It's a gorgeous piece, and surpasses the detailed finishing of the 0456. Sinkevich has great designs, but the 0456 doesn't do it for me, certainly not against the 0606. It's one of RJ's best designs.

I think what you mean is that you disagree with my opinion which you're welcome to do.

Plenty of people think this knife is less than attractive and overpriced.
