ZT0606, who's on board?

It looks like a Macaw...

I like the overall design and blade shape, just not the colors. If this is released later as a production model with a plain Ti handle and satin blade I'll purchase one.

This knife is awesome, played with it at blade show. Pivotless pivot that isn't in the $1000's to own? Yeah I'm on board.

As for the color and milling, I think it's great and a nice departure from the boring @$$ black or plain straight nuked out gray Ti.

Liking it or not is a personal opinion and I can fully understand that. However some of you are just a little too disengaged from the knife industry if you can't at least appreciate what ZT and the Martins have done here with this knife. I applaud them for thinking outside the box and doing all they have with this knife for the price and being built here in the US.

Cheers,

-Justin

Great looking design. The colors are a little much for me, but that wouldn't stop me if I were in the mood to drop $500 on a new folder. The pivot is very interesting.

Looks like they moved from blackwashing everything to limited editions in chromatics.

Looks like this is strictly for collector's, and I'm sure they'll sell every one.

I got to play with one of these briefly at Blade. It really is an awesome piece.

The pivotless pivot has an interesting look to it. I saw it on this plus a couple of RJ's customs at the show. It works great, and, in line with its name, effectively hides the pivot hardware. Hiding all the handle hardware on the presentation side also gives it a very clean look.

As with the other RJ Martin designs I've tried, it is designed and built to work. Given that it's a LE piece, there are certainly going to be some safe queens, but if you choose to use it, it should serve you very well.

I like it and have only read good reviews form people who have actually held one. Being a collector and user, I'm down for one!!

ZT 0606CF goes on sale Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 9am Pacific Time through select ZT dealers for $500. List of dealers will be announced on the evening of November 1st.

I think someone was having a bit too much fun with the saturation controls when they edited those photos. The protos and production versions' colors are much more subdued.

Didn't the Chinese first start this variant color trend to offer the same knives others do.. but with pretty colors and ano?

Which in turn the others have copied since it does sell by the Chinese?

I dunno. Either Chinese or customs. I only remember zombie green, blueball blue or arctic flame variants.

Shift from 'mil spec' hard use even in kitchen era to consumer custom look at it era. It does look pretty cool & all, but also kind of cheesy.

Appeal to the kid in us all. I feel like I'm playing with robots. Or Gobots.

I hope the actual ones are not so shiny and bright! You almost need sunglasses! :)

No sunglasses necessary, they definitely are not that bright, and of course when the oil from your hands gets on them, the colors soften a bit more.

The colors look much better in person.

I didn't need sunglasses at Blade last year or this year when looking at the 0606...

So, in person the colors are more subtle/muted and perhaps more matte than represented in the promotional pictures below which makes it appear shiny and bright?

From my recollection, the colors are much more matte than seen in these pictures. I mean, it's not dull but it isn't radioactive either.

I think this might be my favorite ZT LE since the 0777! Amazing all around design, and big props to ZT for doing something innovative with that awesome pivot! One of the most impressive production knives I've seen thus far...all around amazing

As much as I dislike flippers and bearings on my knives, there's something special about the 0606 and I admit I find myself currently trying to scramble $500 together by the 3rd...I really want one! I think it would be a pleasure to own and use and enjoy.
