ZT0606, who's on board?

Too big... good looking knife though.... 500$ puts it in a competitive market for me.

The design looks great. The colors, like something Liberace may have carried.

Pass. Truth be told, I'm over Zero Tolerances in general. I have loved every one I've had, but I'm just not wowed by anything they make any more. That said, hey, at least this isn't yet another recoloring of that Hinderer Eclipse model they're doing their best to squeeze every dollar they can out of.

The only two ZTs I have left (I've sold all the rest) are my ZT 0562, and my 0452. Both are amazing knives, useful, and not too flashy. I don't plan on selling them.

I'm in the same boat. I went ZT crazy and bought almost 90 different models in a two year period but then lost interest. Not even sure why. I'm down to 8 now, I think, but I might unload what I have left.

I'll spend the money on expensive production blades when they interest me (see the Nirvana), but ZTs latest are getting a bit too garish for my taste.

I like RJ Martin designs and recently bought ZT0600 love that knife. So ZT0606 is definitely on my wish list but no funds available now.
Now if ZT would just come out with "Professional" Production version for $150-$250 I would buy it in a heartbeat!
They should take lesson from Benchmade and produce 3 versions of this excellent design for every budget ex: Kershaw-Economy, ZT-Professional, Factory Custom-Limited Edition they sell them out like hot cakes!

There were 3 reasons I chose to buy ZT0600 instead of waiting to buy this one ZT0606.
1. $500 price is way over price IMHO especially for EDC, $250 max. Ironically I paid $448 for ZT0600 while it's an awesome knife still way over paid for it.
2. Those bright blue/gold colors, I usually prefer more tactical silver/black combination for EDC. But now more matte darker blue/gold combo has grown on me.
3. This is the biggest issue for me personally, wasted 0.5" of cutting edge on stupid finger choil on blade. Finger choils on blades look as stupid and useless as balls on grandma! Does not go together!

PS Anybody who has handled new ZT0606 & ZT0600 can answer this for me. Is it more snappy/forceful deployment than soft one on ZT0600?
I love my ZT0600 but deployment is kind of soft. I was expecting flipper bearing combination to be more snappy on par with assisted opening on my BM Nitrous Stryker.

The 0600 opens "soft" because the blade is so Huge. That being said the 0606 I handled at Blade has great action opening and closing. Probably the best action I've seen on a knife.

LMAO "Huge" it's like calling Mini Cooper "Large" or midget "tall" little person!
But seriously ZT0600 4.2" vs ZT0606 4.0" should snap open same, right? Unless, ZT0606 has slimmer/lighter blade compared to thicker/heavier ZT0600.

PS under 3"-5" is medium, 5"-10" is large, 10"-15" xxlarge, 15"+ is huge knife or small short sword.

Certainly looking forward to this one. I think a lot of great points have been presented on both sides thus far, but I'm interested and feel the price is in line.

The 606 protos that I was able to play with after hours at blade was much snappier than my 0600.

Was it snappier on 0606 because blade is thinner/lighter?

Yes - the BG42 blade on the 600 is ~3/16", the 606 seemed somewhat thinner, although that is just from memory of "coon fingering" the knife at Blade rather extensively.

Side by side, my 600 has a much lighter detent than the 606s that I was able to operate, which makes a big difference as well.

The 0600 was from an era before ZT really dialed in the stiff detents they've been doing recently. I would expect the 0606 to be much snappier.

All my limited edition ZTs from 2013 (0560CBCF, 0600, 0600BLK, 0777-M390, 0777-M390BLK) had distinctly softer detents compared to later years. The first stronger detent was on 0801CF in Spring 2014. The 2015 detents were exceptionally strong and perhaps too much so. In 2016 we're seeing a "happy" medium.
