0770 CF production question

Pre orders don't always take up the first run, and are not always the fastest way to get a knife. I still have not received a notice on the Cryo II I preordered. Got one somewhere else. I have seen similar situations on these boards.

Right. I'd really like to buy my 0770CF from the dealer I preordered it from. So I'll contact him as soon as they start showing up and find out if he can fill my order. But if KAI doesn't send him enough to get to me or if he doesn't respond, I'll get mine anywhere I can. Better safe than sorry.

Last thing I read said the cf would be regular production once the aluminum was done. Guess it makes the aluminum version the le.

. Mentioned it here many times. The majority prefer SpeedSafe. It outsells manuals by a wide margin. Sales are important.

Honestly I dont understand how the fact that the speedsafe knives outsell manuals by a wide margin really is a supporting argument for people preferring speedsafe. The reason I say this is speedsafe has been around for over a decade. Its available on many more models in all price ranges. By sheer product limitations alone its obvious that speedsafe will remain the more popular option. You really cant say people prefer speedsafe to manual operation (especially KVT) based on sales when you dont have similar offerings in both categories. Thats kinda like saying people would prefer a chevy over a ferrari because they have outsold them 100 to 1. I think the only real way to quantify people preferring speedsafe compared to KVT would be to release a well equipped attractive knife in both KVT and Speedsafe formats and see which sells better. Right now with you still not having a single KVT equipped knife out on the market right now under the $200 price point it may be a little preemptive to be calling speedsafe the winner. I think time, exposure and more availability of product in all price ranges will surely level the playing field. I have a feeling you will see a huge surge in KVT sales when your affordable line hits later this year. Now we all know that smoothness is really in how the detent is executed. And it really shouldnt matter if your talking manual or KVT since they can feel so similar. But bearing systems are hot right now. And I just think your not giving it enough credit considering just how much more exposure, time and product offerings you have in the speedsafe line. Its really apples to peanuts. Not even the same food group.

I cant remember I was so excited for a knife. Hope it comes soon. I think it will replace al my edc's when I look at the specs. Especially the weight will be great.

I won't say that I'm over the moon for this knife. After all, it's ZT's first entry into the gentleman's knife category and they've yet to prove themselves in that category, at least to my mind. What I will say is that there isn't any other knife in the ZT product lineup that has ever worked for me, and as I had all but given up hope of ever owning and carrying a ZT knife, the 0770CF is a knife I'd buy on spec even if it didn't turn out to be the next best thing to sliced bread. Plus, there's absolutely no guarantee that the 0770 and 0770CF will produce the kinds of numbers that would make ZT willing to continue supporting it, let alone stray further away from its knitting. So the 0770CF may be my ONLY shot at a ZT knife. Under the circumstances, I'm in!

I agree I want one soon as they come out because it's the only zt I will be able to use everyday at work

There are two versions of 0770 and 0770CF. You got the 0770, 0770CF is not out yet.
Did you read this response to Walker Smith's post, Sunyata? Keep in mind that the 0770 and the 0770CF are NOT the same knife.

If all of your SpeedSafe models were offered in a non-SpeedSafe version, and the SpeedSafe version outsold the non-Speedsafe ones, then this statement would have validity.

I have a good feeling (partially hopeful & delusional) that in April 2014 we may finally see, that is, in our very own precious possessions, the regular production 0770CF and the limited edition 0801CF (hopefully with a 1,500+ production run) plus the ever-elusive 0888MAX unicorn!

So wait...is the 0770cf now going to have an m390 blade? Or is this just a dealer jumping the gun a bit?
