First off, thanks for qualifying here...Perhaps if you would have made sure to mention this in your original reply...;)

Those thoughts being based on the information (very little) you provided which was simply speedsafe knives outsell manuals by a large margin. You never mentioned research projects and focus groups. If you had it would have supported your claims with credibility and not just the "because I said so" approach. But to the outsider with no basis for an opinion when you simply state sales figures for your reasoning, then to some outsiders it doesn't make much sense given the production numbers in both categories. If you are going to share information with "outsiders" don't forget to include the information that would help them understand the insiders position. I don't think I was being rude or aggressive in my response but the sarcasm and condescending overtones are always appreciated Thomas. I was simply trying to understand how you came to that conclusion based ONLY on the small amount of information YOU provided. If you have addressed it in the past please have some patience with us laymen as I don't read every response in every thread. And I am sorry I question you or your company. I realize it is very hard for you to swallow anything other that praise or silence. But some of us just aren't built that way and I will do my best to trust you when your post has enough information to make sense and make me informed. I am not a man of faith.

It seems you took my reply a bit personal here, sorry about that, certainly not my intentions. I'll be sure to be a bit more thorough with my responses in the future so to keep these types of feelings from happening.

Oh, and one more time, SpeedSafe well outsells manual openers with our brands. :)
 
What is the point is being so abrasive? If KAI says they've done research into it, then why is anyone entitled to view the results, listen into their board meetings, or provide armchair analysis on something that does not concern us as ELU? Seems we have a case again of those that know the least know it the loudest. If you have genuine interest then demonstrate it, if you want to stir the pot, then accept any consequences that come your way. :rolleyes:

I really like how you all went to the effort of including a pic of the lockup, very nice touch.
 
I can't wait for my 0801CF (pre-order with Kershawguy) and the 0770CF to hit the street. I'm really looking forward to both these knives.
 
this guy is reason Kai and companies dont like sharing to much info....smh. I can twait for the 0770CF and 0801CF to hit the streets!!!! Its been hard not buying the 0770 and holding out for my pre order for carbon fiber model.

Heh. You're stronger-willed than I... I caved and got the aluminum handled 0770 anyway... and will be getting a 0770CF when it's out. The 0770 is already pretty awesome, and the CF scales and oversized pivot just improve on that.
 
When the cf 0770 hits the street gonna jump on one. Only 3oz,that's impressive!:):thumbup:
 
I've been using the 0770 for a few months as 1 of my edc's, love this knife I'll definitely get the CF model too when it comes out! :)
 
Can't stop looking at the pictures you posted KAI! This knife is so elegant. Looks like it has the Golden Ratio :D

If people don't have a genuine interest they don't take the time and effort to make a post.
I know in all of Europe assistant opening is regarded as automatics and by consequence illegal to own and carry.
Maybe the European market is not important for Kai but some of us hope they will offer more folders that could be legally used.

Hi Neo,

I think you are wrong about assisted openers in Europe and it is not fare to accuse KAI by saying the European market is not important to ZT/Kershaw. I live in The Netherlands and assisted openers are exactly there because automatics are not allowed. It is assisted and not automatic. A automatic works with a button or a slide which activates a spring. An assisted opener needs the help of the finger to open the knife. That makes it allowed in The Netherlands. (Dutch translation of the law: Zelfs 'assisted opening' messen, waarbij je zelf het lemmet een stukje naar buiten drukt en een veer vervolgens de rest doet vallen niet onder categorie 1 of 4)
 
Oh crap if this thing really comes in m390 I'm even more excited

Well in that case I will simply say that as usual, I don't agree with your assessment. And if our past exchanges are any indicator there really is nothing to gain for either of us for me to try and explain.
