1 belt knife to rule them all

For Just one belt knife, Busse ASH LE.

The Aurora is my pick as well. But I really love my Busse SJTAC, with a thinned edge on it, it slices like a dream, it's just too heavy to comfortably wear on my belt.

Are you an unusually frail midget with a single piece of twine for a belt? Just curious. :D

LOL, yep that would be me. :D

Seriously though, I've carried that SJTAC on my belt for some long hard hikes, but when I stop for lunch or to make camp, my first inclination is to remove it. Whereas the Aurora, I barely even notice on my belt or even in my pocket.

Aurora hands down.

BRKT Bravo-1. Don't own one and might never own one, but did have the opportunity to use one for awhile and I really like the way it feels in the hand and for a thick blade, it cuts like a dream. Would opt for the leather sheath.

It is a very difficult question. I think my choice would be Swamp Rat Ratweiler. I like it more than my Busse Steel Hreart. It is not a combination of tools, but it is THE KNIFE.

That sheath is pretty cool! who made it?

This is an interesting thread with some great knives.

For the last year or so my one knife has been a much modified Scrapyard SS4.
It has done fantastic and I am very happy with it other than it is not that good looking and it could use a little more of a point for certain things. I match it to a
stripped ,thinned convex edged and blued CS Norse hawk and have a great set up of tools that can do anything and are very light weight.

My only issue with the SS4 is that it is not very pretty. So I was shopping around for a replacment with a bit more in the looks department and scored
a A2 Skookum for retail and it even came with Mors's Book Bushcraft.

here is the SS4 and Skookum in the northern forest.

Now I feel really dumb because I am having a hard time using the Skookum because it is so pretty I don't want to mess it up:rolleyes:

Besides the small belt knife/hawk combo i also like the larger bowe knife and a small PSK type set up. I really want a PSK2 and a matching Hudsonbay knife
but right now I am using my Busse Steel heart ergo or DFLE and Rosarms Companion2 .

For a big knife nothing beats either a baldric/shoulder strap or just attaching it to your pack. The DFLE has a fantastic rainwalker sheath

I often end up using the SH-E because I don't want to mess up the DFLE.
Another great large knife have not been able to abuse is my Rosarms Bayonet. It is a lot like the Ames riflemans knife and is one of those large knives that is sharp enough and well enough designed to do detail work.
It could definitely be "the knife" if i can bare to use it.

The bayonet is on the left ,the other knife is a Fox2

If I could have an axe or even a hawk i would pick something a bit smaller but if it was my only tool then the Bayonet would be my first choice.

Blackjack Trailguide, A2 Tool Steel Effingham, Leather handle fills the hand for a positive warm grip. Lanyard hole. It is a razor sharp skinner, gutter, poker and fairly light knife. Easy to choke up on the grip for control. I still have the original sheath but would like to see some customs for it. I have many knives but always seem to come back to this one. I am surprised that I don't hear much about this knife. I am in the woods quite alot, hunting and bumming around. Regards, Loosearrow

An old Teflon coated Bushman. It was my first good knife, and it's surprisingly strong for what it is.

Well, there are some really great blades in this thread. And some knives showing use too! Cool pics.

I have a Scott Gossman that I've been using a lot. And my NWA forum knife too. Very good blades.

My HI R-10 for now as long as I can still have an axe, tomahawk or kukri for the heavy stuff. I have a Koyote knives wilderness model 1 on the way which will probably edge out my R-10 as my EDC.

Right now, my favorite is my Breeden Pathfinder. Good size, nice blade shape, very thin and good edge, and the sheath is very nice. It has some things I don't completely like about it, but in my limited selection it is definitely the best. Also not to say it's a bad knife, but sometime down the road Bryan is going to get another order to fix those quirks :)

Got the "fix" in a couple weeks ago:

Gotta go with this Burt Foster sweet knife, smaller than most here but
wicked sharp and handy as all getout;

Seem to still lean on my Crewman the most. But I'm going to try a Bark:

Well, I never have just one, kinda like those chips I guess, can't eat just one. I would take my Enzo, or one of "my" bushcraft knives and my Mission MPK-10 (A-2). Should be able to do a good bit with a pairing like that.
