120th Anniversary BK98 Becker Tuko

love it. we'll see how the experiment goes.

people asked for basically ... this ... KaBar delivered. 170 sold. good deal.

what's funny are the people complain on the nets that it's too expensive. lol.
I thought the limit was 120? I don't think everyone thinks it's too expensive, but like me, they don't have the funds for it, therefore it's too expensive for them. Plus, like I said before, the tweener handles are too small. They should be longer, so more people with big hands can enjoy them too.

$200 is not outrageous for a good kitchen knife; though, at my skill level & usage, it's more than I want to pay. For me to drop that amount, it would have to be the knife I want - no compromises. The steel I want, the style I want, the length I want, a handle I like, etc.
I don't particularly need a sheath for a kitchen knife; but, if it comes with one, (at this price) I don't want to dislike it.
This knife has a lot of positive features, IMO; but - also IMO - it has a number of negatives that I wouldn't overlook due to the price tag.
Up until about a year ago, I probably would have bought it simply because it was a limited release Becker. The draw, to some extent, is still there; but I have adjusted my mindset and affected a significant change in my knife buying habits. It's the wrong knife at the wrong time, for me

HH, I'm with you on this one. I have a perfectly good set of Becker/Esee kitchen knives with a backup set. So the price is shooting me out of the water on this one.

I'll save the bucks for another one down the road that "feels righter".

This is where I am currently at. I have some changes in my living situation that I am foreseeing, and I am trying to bank some extra funds.

I would love to have one, had timing been different, I would. That being said, I am sure that it will move quickly, and hopefully we will see some more knives come from the custom shop.

I wonder if they have given any thought to the inclusion of some verbiage that basically translates to "The pattern of any and all knives commissioned through the Custom Shop become our property, and can be reproduced without expressed consent or compensation."

This would allow them to see what patterns roll in, and if they want to make one an official model or a sprint run, they will be able to do so without fear of "Intellectual Property" infringement.

I think it looks pretty nice for a Kitchen knife :D it still has that Industrial look that I like. Never owned a Kitchen knife with S35VN steel and I never thought I'd be excited about a getting one but I keep looking at it and WOW! Pretty Cool

i ordered mine via phone, and when talking to the very nice Christie, she assured me that counter is "somewhat wrong" and they had a "few" left ;) but they are selling well, so...

I'm over the moon with this blade, but honestly I think if they made this a regular it wouldn't sell. The average joe that is into Becker's wouldn't be into this. This run was for us. Dig through your couch cushions for some extra pennies I think 120 is all she wrote.

Love the idea for this knife although I already have a good enough santoku so I dont need one enough to pull the trigger. (But it had it in the shoppng cart thinking about it a lot)

I do really like the fact that Kabar has a custom shop so sprint runs of special knives can now occur. Just think of the goodies that could become possible. Kabar is thinking about its customers with this shop.

My 1st wishlist item is a bk15 in sv35 or similar with a larger handle (perhaps wood or micarta since neither requires injection mold tooling investment. One can dream....
