1st Spydie ever

Just so you know the Sage series are very cool knives I had the Sage 2 in Ti. But I couldn't get on with it. It doesn't quite have the same natural ergos as regular Spydies. They're real lookers though!
I really like the arc of the handle, looks like it would fit comfortably. I reckon it to a small secondary firearm I carried on my ankle , Glock 27 with a pacmyer magazine extender. With it the grip felt natural. Just my impressions though.

The sage and manix both have great ergos. Personally I am not a huge fan of the wider leaf shaped blades. I find the narrower blades with flat spine (pm2, Millie, endura, etc) much more functional for my uses. There lots to like about the sage and manix but neither are in my top five.

Cool your jets and go watch some Caly 3.5 reviews on youtube! ;) I really think you are going to love that one. It's one of Sals classic designs!

Im with ya Murf. Trying to pace myself w/ the newly found passion for these arachnids as well. The Tuff, Air and GB Folder are the ones Ive pulled the trigger on so far. I had the '12 Native5 Forum wich I traded (regret) I will have another. I could order one a day. Many I want, the Caly, Dragonfly, Native, Milli, and Para...all the next for me..lol. Trouble for me is being happy w/ just one example of each. I suffer from the "multiple" disease...ok, well......I gotta go look at some more knives now...

You probably have read I have the Caly 3.5 G-10, VG10 on order set to be in my hot little hands and yes still playing hard with my Persistence. So, I feel your pain bro.

Forgot to mention, if you havent requested a catalog yet, you should. As much as I appreciate the web and actual shops, I love a good hard copy. Thier catalog is cool, lot of added info and a great way to get familiar w/ the brand. Took a long time for mine to come, but worth it. Register at thier dot com, there is also a dedicated forum..

Everytime I get a new Spyderco I am surprised how comfortable it is in my hand. I started off with a native and have since moved onto the PM2, Dragonfly super blue, and recently the Manix 2 S110V. The manix 2 is amazingly lightweight and allows me to carry a full size blade when I go running. The variety of blade steels that Spyderco uses is what keeps me collecting, I always have to have that shiny new steel type.

I have looked at so many my head is spinning and, yes the Sage 1 is on my short list. Definitely, I will have to start working again, retired public servant, to pay for getting bit by the Spydie. Lol. I didn't enjoy knives this much when I was on the job. Lol

Open up a free photo bucket account. When you upload a pic there is a spot on the right hand side that allows you to copy the link you then paste that link right in your bf post.

I really like the pm2 but am getting conflicting messages about its size. I had an Endura for a spell and traded it out as I didn't think I would edc a blade that big. It would stand to reason that the pm2 would be too big to edc as well?

The pm2 has a 3.4" blade whereas the Endura is 4"

The Sage 1 is fantastic. Also, for your consideration: the Native 5. Native is even better IMHO . Can't go wrong with either, and I bet you'll probably end up with both anyway . +1 on the Paramilitary 2 .

I just bought a caly 3.5 because of one your recommendations. What is going on here.? Lol. I hope I like it as much as the persistence. Someone educate me on my new acquisition? I am so in trouble with the wife!
In my honest opinion Caly3.5 or little smaller Caly3 are among the best production EDC ever made. Do not worry about rivets. I carried caly3 for four years and my caly3.5 goes on fourth year as well. I never had a problem with rivets. This knives made by Moki, one of best Japanese Spydercos contractors.

My next one I want to be almost a show blade.

This will do the trick

Probably you already figure it out that I love Natives

Titanium Fluted Native5. Made in Golden Colorado.

There are whole bunch of Natives. And all of them great

Some of them harder to find and you will need to to patient. But they well worth it. Ergos and cutting abilities are fantastic. The lock is smooth like a butter.

Thank for taking your time to reassure me. I am so excited, I'll be getting to know my mail lady very welll

I'm new to this forum and l have been a loyal benchmade fan for years. Received my first spderco Sage2 several months ago and I can honestly say that I will be purchasing more spyd's in the future. The fit and finish on this sage 2 is top shelf. Good luck w/ your new Spyderco purchase.

Update.... Someone needed my Persistence more than I did and helped themselves to it. Sad thing it had to be one of the kids who visit my step kids. They had good taste though, they left my Kershaw cryo untouched. So, for the time being, I'm only a Spydie wanna be. Lol I'll return to Kershaw land until my Caly 3.5 arrives. C'mon USPS!!!

Really? That really sucks you can leave your things out in your own home. Hope your new one comes soon!

Tell me about it now I am spydieless until this weekend. It's like withdrawal. Lol. I hope the person needed it more than me and he/she gives it the proper attention and love.....
