Yessir!-definitely a personal user now-little too deep to polish out-I think starting from scratch(pun intended)is the best way to go...now to go get more propane:grumpy:

I finally got mine done, it will be shipping out next week. It's my interpretation of a Schrade Deerslayer.

Blade is 5-1/4", 9" overall, 3/16" 154CM w/cryo, heat treated by me.
Handle is black G10 (looks greenish in the pics, but it is black)
Sheath is 10 oz. hand stitched and tooled leather, dyed black.

Very nice Brad!!

I was finally able to complete my knife this weekend also. I'm really pleased with how well it turned out for my second completed knife.

Brad

That is outstanding!!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I forgot to add that the knife is locked into the sheath by a tab on the welt, so there is no need for a retention strap.

Cliff, thats a great looking knife and sheath! ,especially being as its only your 2nd. I would have guessed you had made alot more.

Man some sweet knives! I heat treated mine this weekend. I'll be sanding away this week and getting the handle on and then its sheath time. Hoping to have it done by end of week.

I worked on the sheath this weekend, should have it all done and shipped out on the 8th! Plenty of time for Christmas :D Sure some nice knives going out this year! Thanks again, Scott!

I hope mine's ready to ship out in time, it's ready for heat treat now, but i ran out of shop time this weekend because i was helping my brother get his car out of my garage (so i can get my whole shop back, yay!) My goal is to finish next weekend, which gives me time to miss my goal and still be in time, i hope =P

Man those are some really nice ones. Great jobs, anyone who gets either one of those should have a very Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen. I'm glad you like it. :)
I owe it all to you guys and the information you post here.
Special thanks to Scott for this exchange. It was the motivation I needed to get going.

Well I had a knife just about ready, then decided to go a completely different direction. I just got in from the shop. I have the new knife ground out and ready for heat treat. Hope to have it heat treated sometime this week and handled next week. I'll try to post some pictures soon. The knife is going to take a little bit of time, but I'm planning a little something special for the sheath on this one too.

I have mine profiled and the bevels almost hand filed down. Hope to have allot of shop time this weekend to get the blade finished and treated. It is going to be close for Christmas, but with alittle bit of luck it it will be.

I have mine done. It is 1095 with black/blue G10 (looks all black until you get it out into the sun) brass bolsters pins and thong hole. kind of a take off on the old sharp finger but bigger and its not a trailing point. 9" overall 4" from plung to tip. Heat treat by me. Sheath by me.

Hi all, Got mine done, no pic. Its a vest pocket Bowie, Forged 1/4" 5160 copper guard and fittings, Moran handle of Bocote and Bubinga with mustard patina blade. I had a lot of fun making it. I hope it blesses whoever gets it.
