Great haul Guyon!

I love when the top water bite is on! I got lucky a few times with Small Mouth, Stripers, and even Yellow fin in the past! Good times....

What plug did you throw at them?

I love white bass fishing. I dont like to fillet them. It takes a while to cut out the red meat then when its finished the fillets are half the size. My experience anyways.

What plug did you throw at them?

First day was a Yo-Zuri topwater plug that one of the bastids stole! Had to switch to a Heddon Tiny-Torpedo.

I noticed that the minnows/shad they were eating were pretty small, so the second day, I used a small silver Zara Spook. Look how chewed up it got.

The red meat is a little more fishy tasting, so I did cut some of it out. We had the neighbors over for fish tacos last night.

Soaking in buttermilk overnight though takes out a lot of the really fishy flavor.

How about this one? We finished off the last of the fish today.
O.K. now your trying to kill me........yummy!!!

Mine was a few pounds lighter and this one was taken by a shark. The first mate figured it was a 30lb + black fin tuna taken by a bull shark, the reef got real quiet after it was taken, he said that always happens when a large predator shows up.

Went out for some topwater fun this past Monday. Caught a few in an hour or so. Striper fishing makes me CRAZY!!!

Sorry, no pictures of any fish to share, but I couldn't resist sharing a picture of the "fishing hole". Just got back from a trip to the Eastern Highlands of PNG. There were supposed to be trout in the stream, but no luck for me. Still a unique experience. Guess that's why we call it fishing and not catching! Hope to get out and do some catching here at home soon.

Gina caught her first fish too.

Burt (just 6 years old) went straight to the big boy reel.....no kiddy reels for him.

Fishing at a little lake west of Buena Vista, CO. The kids caught all of these themselves. I was busy baiting hooks and fishing kids out of the water.
