Wow! GigOne, in post #72 hit all of the ones I was looking at!! You guys are great for getting this put together.

Great Eastern
Tidioute Double End Jack
Cattle knife

Queen
S&M Swell Center Jack (042276)
S&M Dogleg Whittler

Canal Street
2-bladed Congress
3-bladed Serpentine Stockman

The Tidioute Double End Jack with two clip point blades is my favorite even if one was replaced by a pen blade. That is if I can't get my...

3" - 4-1/2" closed. 3 blade Sowbelly split backspring Whittler w/ swedged Spearpoint master and 2 flat ground pen blades on the opposing end. Translucent green jigged bone (not 'corncob') w/ a heraldic shield. Brass liners (not etched in stone), stainless backsprings and Carbon steel or D2 blades. Standard brushed steel bolsters and shield w/ mirror blade finish. 'BF' on shield, 2010 on main blade mark side bolster and BladeForum 2010 on mark side of main blade.

FLymon's knife is actually a Cattle knife, wintermute; different animal. And our 2008 stockman was a small one - this Cattle knife is BIG!! Over 4"!!

Is that a 2 backspring knife, FLYMON??

It was just coincidence that my post popped up immediately after FLymon's. I was refering to the several calls for stockmans (stockmen?). Since the 2008 was a stockman pattern, to me it seems a little too soon to go after another stockman. BTW, FLymon's knife fits my request for an equal-ender, albeit with a clip instead of a spear. BTW: I'm digging the teardrops.

Queen offers this trapper (#51T) that I have seen for around $70 retail

I would consider a trapper or small jack knife if that is what is chosen.

best regards -

Just got that. It's quite nice, not as nice as my Gunstock by Queen though.

Gotcha!

Thanks for shouldering the load, gentlemen! I'm in, whatever the decision.

...although an equal end/cigar pattern might be nice... or a congress...

This is an interesting knife!
042276 - Swell Center Jack

3-7/8" Two blade Swell Center Jack. Large spear with cut swedge extending to tip and long pull nail mark. Secondary pen blade with hand swedging and crescent nail mark.
(They might be able to put a Clip blade in it as an alternate. I wonder if it has one or two backsprings?)

I have one.

Two back springs
It is a solid quite heavyweight knife

Schatt & Morgan Swell Center

Steel: Stainless Size: 3 7/8"

Last year's knife had the highest number of orders to date, as far as I know. One of the primary reasons was that Gus and I emphasized the "mass appeal" as an important quality.

When all of you are suggesting your favorite pattern....remember....100 pieces is the magic number. If, in searching yourself for an answer, you don't think 100 pieces will be ordered....mention the knife now, and leave it alone.

It isn't about Charlie, his team or yourself...it is about all of us. As an example....if discussing a single blade knife....a Mountain Man pattern would sell SIGNIFICANTLY more than the single blade wharnie GEC...just the nature of the beast. The more knives ordered, the greater the manufacturer's willingness to work with us, and accomodate our requests in a timely manner.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

MOUNTAIN MAN!

And yes Waynorth, the GEC pic I added is a 2 spring knife. I actually don't have it anymore, I sold it :(, and bought a 2 blade burnt stag scout!! Come to think of it GEC's Scout might be pretty popular, and it ain't small.

Did someone say a Mountain Man Lockback in ATS34??

A larger stockmans all in S&M patterns?
Cattle King
Equal Ender
Sowbelly
Railsplitter
Gunstock

I'd tend to agree it's too soon to do another stockman, just my .02. Also, stag, we've done a couple, I'd like to see something else. Jigged or smooth bone would be nice.

Dogleg whittler? mmmmmmmmmmmmm I was picturing this one in a nice warm smooth bone.

Mountain man(or GEC scout type pattern)? Heck yeah! In the grooved black horn, sweet :D I think that's my favorite so far actually, I'd like it as a single blade personally, but whatever

And like most of the folks who've bought a couple, I don't know if I would say I'm in regardless, but a pretty darn near cousin of it. We'll come up with something cool again I'm sure.

I really like the idea of a sodbuster. It's a forum favorite, and I don't remember there being a single bladed forum knife. It should be one of the cheaper patterns to make (good in these economic times) as it doesn't have any bolsters. A carbon steel blade with smooth yellow bone handles would be quite popular.

So most like Queen Cutlery? It seems good choice.
Queen Cutlery full sized country cousin ( Sodbuster) with D-2 tool steel and jigged or smooth bone handles either gunstock green or queen's beautiful red. Special shield and if possible also special tang stamp.

Why Soddie: Its one of the most functional patterns, highly traditional, simple no BS knife when well done is beautiful. And there ain't many people in these forums who hate sodbuster pattern.

Soddie is pretty simple pattern, single blade, gives us more room to manneur with stamps, shields, finger grooves and handle materials. Has there even been Sodbuster as before as forum knife pattern?

IMHO we should take now the pattern there hasn't been before. Or at least for a 10 years.

Ok so 6 pages of great suggestions, but they're all as varied as the next.

How do we make it easy for the boys, how do we refine our choices to expedite the pattern and steel for the 2010 knife?

A little early for that, this thread's only been active since yesterday.

I'd like, very much, to see a Queen/SM Senator in D2 or 1095
with long pinched & threaded bolsters and Sambar scales.
