When I was a kid and went to the hardware store with my grandpa the knife that always caught my eye was the Toothpick. Maybe two blades instead of the scaler/hook remover. That is what I would like to see this year.

I am in no matter what chioce is made.

Thanks,

I'll throw my vote in for a 3.5"-3.75" Sodbuster with some type of wood scales and 1095 steel.

And, here's an image of a teardrop Harness Jack, as described above;

The utility of this one really speaks to me!!! What a marvelous firesteel scraper that awl will make :eek::eek:

(Yeah, I'm serious :D)

:eek:Wow what a busy bunch!!!!
Thanks to the "Directors" of the cat herding!!!!:D:p

Me I like the cattle knife or the teardrop pattern
NO SS, good ole fashin carbon steel, natural material bone or ebony pre fered;)

BUT I'm in for most any thing that the "cat herders/ herd" come up with!!!

Put up a poll a "whittle" it down a tad.:D Queen makes a very nice Folding Hunter in single and two blade that would be sweet.

I'd prefer a larger knife, something in the neighborhood of 4" closed, give or take 1/4". I like the idea of a special tang stamp. I tend to favor two-blade designs.

I can't stop eye balling that teardrop harness jack. I'd snatch that up in a second.

Count me in.
Single blade. Most likely something in the Mountain Man pattern.
Then again any style will do.

I like this handle style from GEC ("Cuban", which I guess is code for "cigar"). Blade/punch configurations and handle materials can be mixed and matched to suit our desires/consensus. Blade steel is 1095.

The other thing I was wondering was if we could choose a BFC shield as the method for denoting it as our design. That would look pretty cool.

One thing to consider is that if we are trying to keep it under $100, the more blades you add, the less quality materials, and less add-ons, you can use for the knife

I vote for the S&M teardrop Harness Jack (I have no doubt Charlie would be overjoyed). Try and get scales in the nature of old bone...nice tight jigging without overly fancy dye job

I have forgotten how long it is. I will look into that.
I would really love to see something similar but with a clip point and some nice quality green jigged bone scales.

If I'm allowed then it would be single blade, 1095, natural handle material, under 4", and please keep it below $100.

I like that idea. Hopefully it would be Green bone like we are use to seeing on the older knives, and not some of the colors that are currently offered

I vote Sodbuster.

Edit: Holy Cow!! Only 38 posts in 6 years? I guess I'm a lurker.

I'm in for sure regardless of final choice. The Teardrop Harness Jack is very nice. reminds me of a certain Ruple knife !
i like curves in a knife and am quite partial to 2 blade Serpentine Jack and Serpentine Pens of about 3 1/4"-3 1/2".
maybe like this 3 1/2" example:

Here's GEC's clip blade in the Equal End knife pattern. Of course it is also a punch jack, or HJ.
I am certainly not fixed on having a punch; it's just what I have available.
I'll keep trying to drop in pictures as they are relevant, to help people visualize things, and thanks to all who are also doing this.
Let's keep this thread perking along for a few more days, to make sure everyone gets to see it, and maybe put in an idea.
