I am so insanely excited after seeing that pic! the jigging and color look beyond amazing!!! combine it with that massive spear blade and cap lifter and its the perfect utility knife! I have a feeling mine will get a lot of pocket time as it justly deserves (not a fan of safe queens).

I can't wait so I photoshopped this together

That bone looks GREAT!  So does that big fat spear!
I'm beginning to think that we've really hit this one out of the park. You gents have made some fantastic decisions on this.
What will we do for an encore...?

I hope next year we do a swell center sunfish :) its going to be REALLY hard to top this years effort.

Wow, that bone looks great! This is going to be one fantastic knife

Remember there are close to 200 knives

Yeah, and it's hard to tell just how big those boxes are, but they look big enough to hold at least a 10x10 layer of bolsters. So if they are 4 layers deep that's enough, and they look deeper than that. Hard to tell from just a picture though.

Don't get me wrong, obviously none of the other variants will hold a candle to ours, but I think once we get to see ours all finished I for one will be very interested in a few of the other announced knives like Burnt Stag with a Punch secondary, or Ebony with a Spear secondary. And, since I bought the forum knife for myself I need something to ask the wife for for Christmas.

I just happened to stop by GEC this morning, on my way home from vacation.

They asked me if I had any of their knives, and I told them I had one of these on order. They told me they are going to start working on them soon, perhaps as soon as Monday!!

Oh, and naturally I had to buy a couple knives while I was there, so unless I get some more between now and when the forum knife is delivered...it will be my third one.:D

I would love to visit GEC and buy some direct...will have to do that one of these days! :D

I personally feel with the jigging, the EO and wide blade its going to be my winter knife...can open wearing gloves, wont slip in my hand, decent overall size. I hope we're all opening Christmas presents with this knife! :D

Very, very nice folks there. Quite a small and intimate workshop. Once you go there, it is quite apparent the amount of work and care that goes into these knives.

Oh Boy....I just cannot wait for that beauty to come over here to New Zealand!! Awesome work guys!! Thank you for the updates, and the teams hard work!

Ha Ha!! I've been stocking up on bottled drinks, just to have 'em ready!!

This has been my strategy during the waiting-period....:thumbup:But not all of them have survived I have to say:D

The WIP shots of the knife look really promising, this whole project is so excellent: you pay for the knife months ago, sort of forget it then it it resurfaces and you start rreally looking forward to the completion. We are not going to be disappointed is my less than modest prediction.

Alright, I've kept my mouth shut on this knife for too long, now in protest I'm gonna rotate through all of the Traditional Forum knives and add them to my EDC rotation and I refuse to carry any other knife till I get my 2011 EO Jack in my greedy little fingers.

So it's on your heads, all my other EDCs will be lonely and feel left out so remember only Forum knives till the EO Jack gets here.

BTW, the WIP pics are great and the knife looks sweet, great job and thanks again.

Day 1 of the protest....10/22/01

I CAN'T WAIT!!! -I've been bottling that response for months now. :D

As my first forum knife, I have to say, I really enjoy the whole experience, as it is much more that just another knife purchase.

The forum knife experience reaches to every branch of what we enjoy about this place and knives. We involve ourselves in knife-specific discussion, dream about knives which have never yet been created, and finally, we create a direct link to this whole experience that symbolizes our collective infatuation with edged tools.

No one else is this nuts about knives, and I am just glad that we are able to create something together as proof. :D

Thanks for all the updates guys. This looks like a jewel.

Cheers,

Max

IMO, this is the best looking bone I have ever seen on a modern production knife. I'm not just saying that because it's our forum knife.
