2011 fish pic thread

caught this big ole crappy out of grandpa's pond. around 2lbs +.. the biggest crappie i caught was 3.5 lbs last year (or year before cant remember). my shoe is a size 12 for comparison. caught him on a silver n black rattle trap

What did that hog weigh? By the worn bottom lobe on it's tail, looks like it was fanning beds for the spawn.
 
Not sure. My buddy forgot his scale that day but guessing around 9lbs, he caught one the day before that we weighed in at 8 and was a little smaller. I like thinking it was a 10 though. lol Yeah it was during spawning and I caught him up against those rocks in the background.
 
My biggest is 7.5lbs and your fish is definitely bigger. I'd call it between 9 and 10lbs for sure. I'd tell everyone it was a 10. :D:thumbup:
 
3.5 lb. crappie?!! Wow. I might of mounted that.

Opening Day for trout is next Friday in NY. I can't wait. Hope to have some pics on here.
 
Fished drainage ditches off the Mississippi today. Had a tremendous day on a black spinnerbait.

I caught about 20 fish with half going 3 to 4 lbs. No lunkers but there has to be a few there.

mike holds a few crappie we picked up sun. it's a toss up between channelcat & crappie for best eating. get well dipbait---dennis

Nope...I went straight after I got off work this am so I didnt have my camera. Also managed to put a hook all the way into my knuckle......I was takin her off the lure, and the bastid jerked real good and put the forward treble hook right into me...Being the trained medical professional that I am, I yanked it our with my swisstool(OUCH:mad:) and cut off a chunk of T shirt and wrapped it up. Thats gotta be sterile....:rolleyes: Caught 4 more small bass, and a nice sized bluegill after that though....;)

Damn fingers killin me though.....:grumpy: Im good on tetnus, and debrided it and gave it a good flush with saline. Hope I can avoid some antibiotics....:thumbup:

big redear we shocked up doing pop. estimates on private ponds *just want to clarify that we do not keep anything we shock up just getting an idea of the population, still fun to see all the fish tho*

also, we went the other day and my friend caught a 15 lb blue and a 5 lb channel, workin on gettin the pics. I took him out, put him in the spot and I got skunked! I broke one off at the shore like an idiot but man it was great seeing him catch those fish. There are few things I hate more than losing a fish, but helping a friend land a couple nice cats sure aint one of em. Enjoy all, hope I will be back with more soon! Happy Fishing!
