2011 fish pic thread

This was the last time I could take the boat out for the next month. tornado warnings and golf ball sized hail were in the area. I went anyways. It was nice at first. Caught this fish and lost two more at least this big. Then the weather turned and I had to get back. They were hitting buzzbaits , my favorite lure.

I do miss bass. I haven't had any since I moved from Nebraska to Washington 10 years ago.

Good luck for a speedy recovery, dipbait.

Well, the pictures are on the girlfriends camera but i had a bass on the line and it somehow got off. It was really shallow. On a purple 5" curltail powerbait worm. Had another hit but didn't hold long enough to set the hook. Girlfriend got about 6 sunfish. Nice trout!

A couple buddies and I camped out on the beach last night. Got a few whiting, a keeper trout and a blacktip. We landed several trout, but most were under sized.

Well I have still not had a chance to get out on the boats yet, but I did some shore fishing while hiking Harriman state park on Tuesday and picked up my first Bass.

Then today Marcelo and I hiked along a river and I picked up a couple of trout as well.

And all cooked up for lunch.

I still have plenty of catching up to do. I hope to get on the boat next week.

Hey Tony. What kind of rod and reel did you take hiking when you caught those?

I took a 6' light Shimano Jimmy Houston series rod paired with a Quantum PTI reel. 6LB line

The short rod makes for casting amongst all the trees a little easier...

For the lake where I caught the Bass I had a Shimano 7' medium Compre with a Stradic 4000. I was fishing mainly a Jerk Bait and making long casts.

-- the bass are slowly getting off bed around here so its time to fish more. i normally do not fish much during the actual main spawn. i dont like spending 20 mins on a large bass. ill just wait till she gets off and ill snag her in no time. hope to post pics soon. been catfishing some lately and caught channels and blues from 2-6lbs and some that just flat out broke our line. the lake we fish has landed some state records in the past. didnt take pics. next time i will
