I voted CJ, but I'd really like a single-spring on that--a 1/2 Congress with opposing clip and sheepsfoot blades. That would make it slim in the pocket, but have 2-blade functionality. Opposing blades just seem right on a Congress. Help balance it out.

Any scales. Any shield.

This is a great question and wasn't mentioned in the OP (don't worry you're forgiven :p). IMHO you should only vote if you intend to purchase the knife. Obviously voting isn't a contract to buy; if you don't have funds when needed or you hate the knife that's chosen that's ok. Guess it should be up to the commitee but those are just my thoughts.

ETA: Rsmith in your case I'd say vote. Sounds like you intend to pick it up if you can so I'd say go for it

This is quoted from the original post. "I figure this poll will last a week. Enjoy! Please only vote if you're serious about purchasing a knife."

hrmmm
i think i will not vote, while i would be very interested in picking one up
i cannot say if i will be employed or not, been a VERY dry 3 months so far

but thanks for answering my question!

CONGRESS JACK WITH ANY SHIELD EXCEPT A BOLLOCKS !!! 3.5in !!! in BLACK PAPER MICARTA / EBONY - or SMOOTH BONE - ANYTHING SMOOTH............... & ATS 34 stainless or 1095 carbon!!!! I like the blade combo on there and would anyone be interested in it being a shadow pattern?

Another vote for the Congress Jack here, with a Federal shield though a simple bar shield would be sweet too. Tough choice between it and the Sowbelly, but I'm in the process of scratching that itch, narrowed it down to three...oh my poor wallet :D

I voted for (drum roll) Congress Jack, 3.5 inches, no shield. A great looking knife, love the pen blade in front, and those threads on the bolsters are very nice. (but that wharncliffe is pretty darn nice too). I like the pictures thanks for those.

D'oh!! Thanks Gary. Now it's I who must beg forgiveness :) I have a similar problem in exchange threads...text below the pics might as well not exist to me :D

I voted for the Congress Jack. Any shield or steel is fine, but NS liners would be appreciated. I would also like the extended spring for the pen blade if it doesn't add too much to the cost. I do plan on buying regardless of which pattern is picked.

For the Wharncliffe Trapper, I'd prefer a two blade barehead version with a clip blade under 4".

Gotta say, not a knife in the lineup I wouldn't buy, so I think it's safe to say I'll be getting in on it again. Voted for the Congress Jack, second choice would be the wharncliff trapper, but pretty much in regardless like I said.

Congress Jack, same blades as shown, and for that matter I like the jigged bone, bolsters and shield as shown too. Bowtie shield would be a good look as well I think.

I voted Wharncliffe Trapper. One blade preferred, second Clip if not. I'm too new to know how to classify shields, but the one pictured looks nice (is that Federal?), and anything else [including, nothing] would be fine instead except for the one that looks like, shall we say, "parts."

I vote Wharncliffe Trapper, federal shield, 3.5” range single blade, bare headed. If we end up with a Congress Jack the smaller the better with a bar shield. The CJ is just too close to the 620211 I just bought but wished were a tad smaller.

I voted Wharncliffe Trapper
Bomb or Federal shield
3 1/2" closed
2 Blades, Clip main w/ Wharnie 2nd (it won't work the other way around, unless you put the nail nicks on opposite sides, and that would be unusual in a bad way if you ask me)
Bareheaded

Keith Johnson recently made one EXACTLY like I would like to see it. Pictures can be found here.

Runner up would be the big Stockman I think.

WT is 1st choice but will take 2 of whatever get chosen.

I concur with Flymon here!! I originally said Swayback BUT, WT is really sweet.
In for what ever at least 1!!

Congress Jack

I used to own that particular Wharncliffe Trapper made Tony in the picture and it's a fine knife.....but I've been there done that
