We're shipping these as soon as they arrive, they just haven't arrived yet. We third quarter, now it's fourth, no big deal.
May not be a big deal to you but c'mon....

I will be the first to agree that a persons wife is their TOP PRIORITY and it should be. However leaving almost 500 people hanging for months when a simple weekly-ish update would quell the noise, makes no sense. And 500 people or so would make "stepping up to the plate" awfully hard to defend! So I do appreciate the person spearheading this finally giving us the update, it is his duty. To not give an update is very unprofessional. Imagine if it were your money just hanging out there with nothing to show for it. I am sure you would question it just as much..

If you don't like all these people expressing their concerns and complaints on here, update them once in a while. Taking 30 seconds out of your day to post an update is not asking too much, especially since you have promised a product and the time frame has passed. Your response "it's no big deal" just makes it worse, not better. At some point people will begin to wonder if they got swindled.

I am fully prepared to wait until the paid for and promised items arrive, but please be a little more forthcoming with the updates. It's all were asking, I am sure you would ask the same!

Be careful man, as a newbie, I am sure you watched me learn the hard way how to be a newbie here at BladeForums if you have been watching this thread. He has updated us, everyone knows that blade and firearm production is impossible to predict, and everyone else in the thread is happy. Just a word of advice from one newbie to another.

I can wait as long as it takes -- occasional updates are appreciated but certainly not necessary; they'll get here when they get here. Thanks again for this really great opportunity, Spark!
 
Full faith in Spark. I'm sure organizing, communication and delivering on this has been no easy task. And, seeing how well this forum has been run (I sure have enjoyed myself since stumbling upon it last January), I have no doubt that those who have placed orders will get then soon (soon being relative). Keep up the great work Mr. Spark!

I see where you're coming from. Updates have been few and far between. However, you may want to be more diplomatic in your approach next time you post in this thread. Most of the other members who pre-purchased this knife did so well before you did, and they have been waiting for a couple of months longer than you have.

Finally got the money to buy one of these and already I feel like I have been waiting forever( I ordered a week ago) so I really feel for anyone who ordered before me and I just pray they come soon

Agreed. Everyone needs to relax. They run a business, their only concern isn't us at the moment. Kershaw (I'm sure) is very busy.

They will get here eventually. Spark has done a great job doing this, damn he's even giving everyone here $25. He certainly didn't need to do that.

Step back from the situation, and just be patient.
 
I ordered one the first week they were available and that was about six months ago. I'm eager to get a hold of it but patience is a virtue and some people here who have only been a member a month or so seem a little too impatient. Besides, there was never a guaranteed ship date to begin with. It seems to me that Spark has taken a great financial burden and risk upon himself and we should be a little thankful that he's willing to do this at all. If I were him I'd refund the payments to several of the posters here to let somebody else have a shot at one.

Changing the subject slightly, has it been said what packaging this will come in? I hope it's in a box and not a clamshell (I hate clamshells).
 
Don't know about the box, most likely whatever the normal Skyline comes in but with a different sticker on it. I think my Skyline came in a box, but I know the clamshell is a newer thing.

He is entitled to his opinion, I see no reason to personally attack him as you just did. To be fair, he does not know Spark (or whoever for that matter, names make no difference) from the guy next door. He didn't post anything negative or personal, he posted his feelings and his opinion. I certainly see where he is coming from, the updates are nice. Even a simple " still working on it haven't forgotten about you guys" was all it took, and that was what was done. No harm no foul

I do not feel his post was unreasonable, or derogatory. If you do not agree with what was posted you do not need to come out and say the guy is being a dick. Spark did a nice thing for updating, updates are nice they keep people happy. No one is complaining about the fact that knife is taking longer than expected, so your last sentence is pretty much pointless.

For the record I put my order in the first week this was available, I am perfectly fine with waiting, and I do in fact enjoy the updates. So, in your eyes I may be a dick, but honestly I couldn't care less what I look like in your eyes, and I doubt the member you publicly flamed does either.

edit: By the way the original poster answered your first question, he said a 30 second update "weekly-ish" would make a lot of people happy, and I tend to agree. Me and my "dick-ish" ways coming out again.

Gold membership, which is great. Heck I'd order one without that but the bonus of having it is fantastic

There's no need for insecurities or egos here. Nothings worth this back and forth crap.
