This years knife at $125 seems like a pretty healthy cut over even full retail pricing.
I will gladly pay $125 (as is only) if GEC says this is what we can expect to pay for similar knives when they release their versions through their dealer network, OR if they can justify why ours should cost 25-30% more than almost every 2 blade jigged bone knife they have offered to date.
If not, I'm out and will wait for the regular production models.
I thought a lot of us had discussed the fact that we wanted to keep the blades low in the handle. The blades in that diagram look very proud and wide. The main improvement over other wharncliffe trappers I thought we were trying to make was about sinking the blades as far as possible.
I was thinking more of a california or turkish blade, and then a slim executive whittler style wharncliffe.
I am not going to vote for anything yet. I hope we can make some changes (if they are wanted by majority).
I'm in for one, I dont care about the knife pattern so much because I am willing to try any pattern but would prefer it to remain 2 blade. If it costs more, so be it, but last years knife we didn't expect the results we got this year so it should turn out great!
