2013 BF Traditional draft proposal

This is very appealing to me. I'm kind of a newb to traditional's but have quickly gained appreciation for them. I do know this design and the little details you guys have come up with is outstanding:thumbup: I saidly missed out on last years blade which I badly wanted but hopefully I can get on board with this one. That Ryuchi is stunning too!!
 
Wow! It's funny, I went into this year hoping for a specific knife and had most things picked out as Ideal before anything official began. I'm very excited to see things work out to be almost exactly what I wanted.

Sort of like dreaming of a Lanny's Clip, and then having Case put out the LC as last year's Tony Bose collaboration.

Maybe I should wish for something REALLY special for next year!

bwperdue that is an amzing knife! By all means we should do something like that. In ivory or white micarta it will be stunning!
 
I don't want to get everyone's hopes up. That's like a $900 custom; ours will be...considerably less... However, it is a good indicator of how many of our selected criteria can look together.

True, but I think this knife is going to look really great.
 
Me, too! I just don't want people to be disappointed when it's not a clone of that one, is all. I think the specs everyone has picked out are going to look great. Our initial conversations with some of the prospective makers have put me in a very optimistic mood.

But that's part of the yearly tradition, posting up pictures Ohtas or Kawamuras or the like to convey concept, evoking yelps and lotsa "THAT ONE! For under $100! Wheeeeee!"

sounds like i will be getting at least one of these. Great job everyone, it's been real nice to see how last years and this years traditionals get put together. Looking forward to seeing some pics. :thumbup:
 
Something I've overlooked perhaps, but any ideas on the liners/pins?

Brass or nickel-silver? I hope the latter.

Worked real well with last year's Trapper, gave a good idea overall, what it all looked like together.

Believe me I was just looking at the configuration and shape. The minutia of detail of a custom will not be there but from across the room...we are good!:D
