My two arrived today. The stag, while different, is evenly matched from mark to pile and well hafted. Thanks to John Lloyd for his generous donation of the stag and thanks to GEC, Gunstock Jack, and the others who made this happen. Not a complaint, but an observation ... mine have different pulls, even after working some Quick Release oil in the joints. The lighter stag is a 4 and pinchable, while the darker stag is a 6 and not easily pinched.

Fish, the only knives that get the "Circle P" are those issued to traditional forum members who have been judged by their peers to be Perfect Practitioners of Procrastination!

Well, that makes more sense than my movie inspired ramblings.

I believe the 3-P etch indicates that it is the first production of this particular pattern - in this case, the #77 frame. Premier Pattern Production

Originally poste by Lemmy caution: The triple P etch is put on all the knives in the first run of a particular pattern.

liamstrain, and lemmy caution I appreciate the info, that makes a lot of sense now that I know what it means :)

Well, I just went out to the mailbox, and oila, package from Gunstock Jacks, and the forum knife was here, Sorry for my poor photography skills.

Thanks so much to the team for making this knife happen. I really feel lucky to have found this spot on the internet.

Now if I can only find a single blade sheepfoot barlow!

Great job on getting all the knives out so fast Barry, everything seems to have gone great this year

Got mine, love it. Many thanks to all involved in making this a reality. Here's some shots of it with my other BFKs and another pic with his GEC Stag brethren.

Got mine today.
This is my first quality stag knife and it is a winner.
Hope everyone else who ordered theirs gets it real soon.
It is a beauty.

I got back from a trip to find mine in my mailbox. Gorgeous knife.

Thanks to all who made it possible.

All the ones received and posted have looked amazing to me. This really is a great knife.

I've been carrying mine since it arrived. I can not tell you how many times I have thought
how little we paid to what it could have cost. Just wanted to say thank you again to all
that were involved. I'm loving this knife.

Very nice! You got a lovely example... and of course, the awesome 2012 and 2011 Forum knives (which I have yet to track down for myself) make for a great group shot.

I'm told mine just arrived but it'll be a few weeks until I get home. The lady of the house loves hers immensely.

Thanks to the Charlie and everyone else who made this happen! It was supposed to be a Christmas his-and-hers gift but I don't think either of us is sorry that Christmas came early this year. :)

My favorite one of my two:

My photography skills are lacking and do not show this knife as it really deserves. It's perfect, the stag is beautiful and it really feels great in hand. Now it gets put away by SWMBO as it will be a Christmas present to me from her :)

Very good one there Xenocrates.:thumbup::thumbup:

I don't think I could hand that over once opened :D:D Christmas or no Christmas present....;)

Thanks, Will

The covers are so well matched on all of these. I wonder if the the two sides of each handle were made from the same part. That is, from a section split in two, so each side is actually the other side of the section of antler. Anyone know?

Call me crazy, but I had to smooth mine out some.
I've had it in pocket or hand since getting it & took to rubbing my thumb along the shield like a worry stone since it sits naturally in hand with the shield up.
The ridges that bracketed the shield didn't agree with my thumb though, so I knocked 'em down & smoothed both sides out.
Then it was too pale looking after the filing & sanding so I gave it a light application of Fibing's Med.Brown dye.
Now it has a nice warm pocket worn look to it & my thumb is happy.

I didn't take much off, just enough to smooth everything up & make my thumb happy.

Thanks again for a great knife Charlie & crew, now it's really mine.:)
