2014 BladeForums Knife Gallery

The covers are so well matched on all of these. I wonder if the the two sides of each handle were made from the same part. That is, from a section split in two, so each side is actually the other side of the section of antler. Anyone know?
Good question, some are similar enough , but there's enough that are different that I kinda doubt it.
I know that mine has a lot of grey in the mark side making it darker overall as you can see in the pics I just posted up.

Hopefully Charlie or Mr. Lloyd can shed some light.

mykel m that is a fantastic smooth and dye job. that is the kind of yellowed look i love on stag!

No. I sent about 1300 pieces and they paired up enough for 350 knives. It is a bit of an art and takes a while. You need at least 100 pieces to begin the process. You first separate for saddle and hump type and a few really straight ones. Then for texture and color. So, theoretically they should have about 600 pieces left over. I think they did a very good job.

Thanks John, great insight into the process.
1300 pieces to start!

SorryI forgot to thank you in my last post John, I thank you profusely.
Without your contribution I wouldn't have been able to get my first BF Traditional.

They did a very good job, indeed.
Thanks again for the stag. I couldn't be more pleased with mine

I left mine, both of them, in my desk at work :grumpy:
I've had to come here to look at the pictures I posted earlier (of only one of them) to keep the shakes away this weekend.
Looking forward to going in to the office this week for sure.

They did a great job from what we have seen so far of matching this stag up.
Thanks again to all those who made this year possible!

I am impressed by your customization, Mykel!
It's definitely your knife now!
I put a nice razor edge on mine, and it is holding it well, despite slicing up a bunch of cardboard boxes, and other debris from cleaning out the basement.
This knife is not just a pretty face!

I had no photos to post in my earlier posting.

Here's mine: I wish they were better photos.

I also changed the edge angle like Waynorth did; Although mine did not come out as perfect as his but it usable and VERY sharp now (used a lansky to reset the angles to 25° and they came out slightly wider at the tip - probably due to needing to clamp the guide too far back AND the fact that the edge was much duller and had a sharper angle at the tip from GEC then finished op on some ceramic sticks)

Now- once the leather slip that Gunstock Jack is making me arrives it will go in my pocket.

Thank You Charlie, Barry, Mr. Lloyd and all the others that made this happen

The Stag on mine is beautiful! It even has a worry hump that the shield is set into. I wish I could bring myself to use it. This may be my first safe queen.

I must have been in the second batch. No matter, I will still receive this before my b-day. :D

I'm so greatful to those who helped make this happen this year. I'm always excited to get the BF Trad. of the year knife, but it always seems like the newest one coming is just the best one ever!
