I love the sodbuster and all, but I don't think there needs to be a special version of one. With all the options that Case, Queen, and GEC have been putting out, I don't see the need to make something new/different.
I think a single blade trapper would be good and simple....
Edit: Maybe it's finally time for that Blade Forums peanut.
I have some serious questions about the aesthetic appeal and utility of compressed goose feathers. I believe Swan feathers would clearly be a better choice.gaauuur. don't you guys know anything? a hop sock is something they use in the beer making process. I thought everyone knew that.
ps I'm in for one as long as we get compressed goose feather scales![]()
Didn't you read the rules? If it has a thumbhole or stud, pocket clip, or swan feathers, it's not traditional! Sheesh...
Black Swan or Mute Swan?
how about the compressed arm hair shaved from the arms of traditional knife enthusiasts when they sharpen their blades? You couldn't get anymore traditional than that. In order to vote you must donate arm hair. Say a 4lb ball per member.
I'm with you and dont want to be contrary but what about the old case xx scout knives that had thumb studs on the pen blades or camillus USMC knives with studs on the screwdriver/bottle opener. Just curious what y'all make of that?Didn't you read the rules? If it has a thumbhole or stud, pocket clip, or swan feathers, it's not traditional! Sheesh...

Well, you got me on the USMC MIL-K knife, but the stud on the can opener of the old camping style knives isn't for your thumb; once you jab down through the lid, you rest the stud on the side of the can to give you leverage to rotate the knife and cut the lid off.
aha! you're right. Yeah they're definitely not the same as the modern studs/holes. But it gets me thinking a nice camp/scout knife might be an idea for the 2014 BF knife. A spearpoint main with long pull, pen/can opener with a small stud (if this type would be admissible), a nice sharp awl, screw driver/bottle opener and a bail. All that in 1095 with some nice jigged redbone or smooth ebony would be pretty sharp.
