I like the cut of your jib, sir. Especially if we convince Barry et al to create a custom BF blade stamp.

The headache of dealing with two levels of administration is just too daunting for me though! I am reluctant to be involved in any way.
Due respect (including for the man's excellent working relationship with GEC and the outcomes of their joint ventures) suggests we wait to see what's behind Frank's Door #3, The Countdown.

In light of the following (also earlier in the thread), were you thinking of Shanghaiing the man, or did you have something else in mind?
If you have a smoke house on your place, Woodrow, you could chain him to something heavy (feed him well) and not let him see the light of day until you get some results.![]()
Oracles speak only when directed do do so by the gods they represent. The knife gods are not moved by our plight.

Exactly Sarah. We are talking about a Forum Knife and it should be picked by members (plural) of the forum - not just one person. And everyone ought to be able to vote with no money down!!! It amazes me (well, not really) how many multi-year members of the forum have been chiming in with comments who have never bought a Forum Knife. That's their privileged of course but if they're going to run their fingers, they ought to buy a knife.
We'll just have to wait and see what Frank and Gary have to say.
I don't post in here often...

but when I do, it's to suggest a sodbuster...
The end result of the 13 project was a great knife, a rare pattern and excellent quality.
However, it was a lot of stress for those involved in the admin of it, lots of polls where everybody had their say, lots promised to buy but some did not materialize... big headache for the main financial sponsor...
I'd suggest that a ' Council of Wise Elders from the Trad Forum' put their heads together, suggest a pattern already in production (to save tooling costs etc) with a handle they approve of, get a quote from a company. Then set a sign up deadline, if there's no interest no knife, if there is we procede. Say a stainless 48 Slimline Trapper from GEC in Ram's Horn just an example(never had the pattern before, no single blade, no stainless before, no Ram's horn etc) Yes I know it's not very 'democratic' and all that but polls can get out of hand, bickering can break out over imagined grievances, and the process can get mired. Then there's the financial complexities which are considerable, so we might not be able to get it off the ground to be realistic. Which is why I suggest a nominated knife rather than "I want xyz but at only abc cost" just sayin'
