2014 Forum Knife

Charlie, please just give us an original design of yours. I feel like this may be the only year that the BF knife is a Campagna SFO. We trust you.

 can't see how we could go wrong with that, Charlie don't allow junk to be associated with his name, I've ridden this bus before be patient folks it's a busy time of year for most people what with vacations, graduations, weddings, it's just a busy time of the year. Patience, members patience. :)

Obviously, we don't have an answer now (at least, I don't) but I assume that a new frame could raise the cost a bit. Anyway, no one can handle this better than Charlie, so patience and trust are the keys. :)

I dunno, I asked Charlie to grab some tinnies from the shop a few months ago and I'm still waiting.... Just saying...:)

Normally I like blue, but I thought it was pretty much decided we're using stag? I'm more in favor of a peanut sized offering, too. We can use less stag that way, and maybe keep the price down.
Whatever, I'm in no matter what.

We've already done a Stag Barlow in 2009 double stamped Queen/Schatt Morgan with donated stag. I don't see them redoing a pattern we've done previously but I could be wrong. I think it would be hard to top the 2009 knife for under $150 putting it right out of the price point for most.

Just to tease you a little though here's my 2009 Queen/Schatt Morgan Barlow...

I love this knife
So pleased with it

In agreement with the above :)

Depending on which manufacturer is selected to produced this year's knife, any chance of getting a blade steel other than 1095 (O-1, stainless, D2)? If so, would this substantially increase cost?

I like this. Going out on a limb and lets say GEC is making our knife. If they use O1 in the farm and field line(the budget line), would it not be cheaper than 1095? I would love to see any knife done by GEC with O1 steel. It is an upgrade in my mind and to see it with some bolsters and stag or bone would be great!

My thoughts exactly, Jeff. I just didn't want to jump the gun and assume it was GEC. I've heard great things about O-1 and would love to give it a try (missed the boat on the F&F I wanted). Changing blade steel certainly would make the forum knife different/special compared to most commercially-available knives.

Every year I've spoken for stainless for a change. GEC does it very tidy too! But seems I'm always a lone voice crossing a wilderness of rust (patina...) :D as the carbon tribe holds sway...;)

I'd certainly be open to stainless as well, Will. I own a GEC trapper in stainless and it holds a sharp edge well-enough (as the fingers on my left hand can attest to).

Stainless, D2, O1, 1095. It's all good with me. I'm really excited about this year's knife with Waynorth at the helm.
