2014 G.E.C. RENDEZVOUS, Who's Coming ?

It was great to see you again Sarah! Your focused enthusiasm is a wonder to behold!!
And your beanbag skills are second to none, despite administrative adversity (rulez)!!

Were those Rendezvous Radio Scout's only available there??

Yes. They just made a few with leftover parts. They disappeared quickly.
Might have been the first Rendezvous special to sell out.
No explanation needed!!

Thanks Charlie for the reply. You are correct on selling out...they were beautiful.

Did we ever get a confirmed number of them that they built?

There was a master list of Rendezvous knives. I have asked Christine to send it so I can post it. She was ready to go home yesterday, so I am hoping we will see it Monday - it will answer a lot of "How Many" questions!!

I'm really hoping that the sheepsfoot/caplifter combo has been deemed popular enough to warrant GEC making a production run of it. I really want one, but was unable to make the trip and will have a hard time justifying the cost of a custom to my significant other any time soon.

Thank you, Charlie, even though I'm not even sure what you're talking about! It's just the way it is. :)

Ha! Rulez or no, I wouldn't have beaten Pattie. This year. I intend to give her more of a challenge, should there be a next time.

The number I heard while there was "5," ie, 5 easy-open Scout-shielded knives with sheepsfoot blades and caplifters were produced. I do know I got the last one, this time 'round. Which was in itself compelling if inadvertent (and in this case, unnecessary) marketing: "It's The Last One."

I think there were more than 5 made in Sunbrite (6?) but am just guessin'.

True story: I assumed Sucker Rod was a person, just like French Kate or Ben Hogan.

Neat stuff! Thanks Charlie and Christine!

Agreed!

... And, as good as my 'get' was-- the sheepsfoot scout-- I now see that I missed some goodies. Wowza.

(Very cool of GEC to make these one-offs, or one-to-six-offs as the case may be, available at all.)

Well said. Thanks for posting the info, Charlie!

Thanks for posting the info Charlie!! Anyone know the specs of the #488212 GEC version with burnt orange wave jig bone? Being that the blades are from 2012 when they came out with the 440C versions and that afaik no 440C #48 jacks have been made yet, I'm guessing it's a standard 2 440C blade trapper.

The Burnt Orange Wave looks like a deeply cut Winterbottom. I was tempted!
But the Radio Scout definitely got my attention!

I finally got some of my Booty over the border. I can only bring a few at a time, and here is two trips worth.
What's Black, White and Red all over??
:D
