2014 G.E.C. RENDEZVOUS, Who's Coming ?

That time I went to GEC's Rendezvous, and the only pictures I took were of a bird:

But wait, what's this? Let's take a closer look at the background:

Glad you made it home safe P, I hope all is well. It looks like the Bird has eyes in the back of it's head. Oh, Rendezvous knife content:

When I asked when I bought mine they said 4 were made. I'm planning on asking about how many of the smooth ivory 72's were made, so I'll ask about the 15 caplifters too.

Sure does! Nature, so clever.

Great picture!

(Great knife.)

I still contend that it is a Radio Knife, however, and not a Beerlow. :p

(The bone-covered knives with the same blade combination but sporting an EZ-open notch and Scout shield are, of course, Radio Scout knives. :D)

I'm wondering if anyone had a pic of all the different knives they made for the Rendezvous. I believe in the past they only offered one knife made for the event plus the other knives they sell. It looks like this time they had the event knife and a bunch of specials/left over parts knives as well.

And you would be correct on your contention P. This knife does not have the long bolsters typical to the Barlow pattern. But I must say the name "Beerlow" is a catchy name and accurately describes the function most used by Forumites. Sometimes misnomers can be impossible to extinguish.

Correct. They made the 2014 Annual Rendezvous knives, and also made a number of different short run/parts knives loosely called "Rendezvous Specials".

When I asked I was told six. I also saw "six" written on Chris's worksheet.

I'm sure there would be a big reception for more knives in that Sunbrite, would suit many patterns.

Sunbrite certainly looks good in the light. I can't say that it's much of a match for Nitebrite in the dark though. Glows great at night too!! (post 159)

Looks like everyone had an awesome time. I so wanted to go but work got in the way this year.

the 72's in smooth ivory there were two one had a swedge cut and the other did not, so in a sense they were both different.

The weather was perfect for the picnic and the food was great.
It was a relaxing day to meet people, talk knives, and pay tribute to the G.E.C Craftspeople.
I saw a few cameras, so I think photos of the day will surface soon.

Hi Sarah! Radio Scout sounds appropriate. Makes me want one even more :(
Definitely sounds better than Beercout or BoysBeer :p

From what I saw of Chris's demonstration, they glow about the same.
You know what, I have to take what I said back. I just tried it in the dark and it definitely glows. I don't recall it being too dark when I tried the first time.
