Wow, that delivery schedule looks great! Many, MANY, thanks to everyone involved in making this happen!

Do you think there's any possibility of some work in progress photo's to document the manufacture?

Guys, I just talked to Wally at Canal Street Cutlery and got the uptown-lowdown on the 2015 BF knife.

Everything is progressing nicely; steel is ordered for blades and springs, tang stamp just arrived, scale material is in, and small parts are coming together. If everything goes as scheduled, we should start seeing the knives by the end of THIS MONTH! That's right! The end of August is when I should receive them, and I'll start shipping them out immediately, but it will take me a few days. The knives should be in your hands on or about September 1, 2015. :D:D:D

ORDER SOON OR.... :eek::o:(:mad:

Wow, I believe that's the fastest from order to tentative delivery date we've had in 10 years... :)

Wow that's kool sir!

If I could just interject a note from the trenches: That seems mighty optimistic, I'd look more toward mid to end of September. Blades have to be cut, nail marked and stamped, then sent out for heat treat which alone could take up to two weeks if they're backed up. Once we get them back we still have to grind them, and that's just the blades. Since we're already nearing the second week of August I'd say the latter part of September is a safer bet. I'll keep you updated with some WIP pics once things get rolling.

Thanks Eric, I think the earliest we ever got any form knife was the end of September and it was after Charlie got involved and streamlined the decision making process. There's so much work that still has to be done, unless this pattern was already sitting during to be made than for it on a back burner tool we showed interest. Either way being a veteran of traditional forum knives I know it'll get here when it gets here and no amount of anguish anxiety is good change that fact so I don't worry. I know these fine folks who volunteered their time also have lived and are doing the best they can.
Thanks guys.

Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but I would rather hear it now than keep being put off.
Thanks for the realistic time frame Eric. :)

That sounds great Eric, looking forward as I'm sure everyone else is too :)

and I'd MUCH rather they took their time building these than trying to rush them, a small wait is often a good thing!

Hurry the heck up, I was told early September!

Joking of course. A little more time to look forward to this will be nice.

They'll be ready when they are ready, and that's good enough for me. I was originally figuring on not getting them till early December.

My wife is buying one for my Christmas present so won't see it till December anyways.

I hope they take their time and do it right.

Whenever it arrives it will be sweet! This has been a great process this year, really enjoyable. OH

I was figuring just before Christmas too. I'm in no rush.

I'm looking to place my order this Thursday, hopefully there will still be a couple left. I'm really excited about this years knife!

Yup. Take your time and no rush. Though I'm really looking forward to this knife!
I agree, lots of things get better when you take your time...

BTW, what will be the exact size. In this thread it is 4", shrinks to 3,5" on the order form. I don't mind the size (already said that sometimes), just curiosity. There's place for any in my pocket.

I missed last years traditional forum knife. I hated that. But I just didn't have the loose money and I wasn't going to force the purchase. Looking forward to this year's knife.
