Shame to see the old growth timber all gone. Could you imagine pulling that long cross cut saw back and forth? Looks like work.
Even in the East you see pictures of early 1900's logging operations and really large trees. That was pretty much when the mountains were denuded of trees. It is also when the states picked up a lot of property for public use down the road. The PA State Game Lands are a marvel in fore thought.

I guess there are about 80 left now +/-. If I really like the knife, I may in fact request another if they are available. But not a huge deal for me either way. Lots of knives out there.
