Well, you know, we can all copy the voting threads and paste them into a word doc or power point if you do a screen capture and then you can copy this thread and then you can just print out all the threads, put them in a 3 ring binder and place that in your library for future reference back to this folder ;) seems easy enough :)

or, maybe it can be ALL put into a micro dot and secreted into a very small hole drilled into one of the scales ! a little 007 stuff there, Old school...yes, I can just see it now!

I guess the forum knife means different things to different people, for me the end product (i.e. the knife), rather than the process, is what it is all about. If I buy a piece of furniture from a carpenter, I want the piece itself, I don't want the wood shavings as well.

Personally, I think the process has been fun. Like the furniture, if I were looking a basic work horse knife (furniture), I'd just buy a standard model off the shelf. I don't want the shavings either. But if I hire someone to build something special that means something and works perfectly for my house, I'm going to be involved in the design process. Once that design is decided upon, then it's time to just let the craftsman go to work.

But that being said, I still like the idea of some form of history. I appreciate the time spent by all the wonderful volunteers, and like the idea of someone in the know just typing something up that could be downloaded in PDF form by anyone interested. I would do it myself if I'd been around long enough to know the details.

A knife with a Stanhope lens and the history of the forum knives underneath would be cool. I'm working on a history with knife, specs, production #s, price and pics. It'll take a while but I'll share my research when I'm done, could take a little while but I'll gladly share.

But what if somebody is making you a gold ring? Sometimes you want the shavings...

you cannot please all of the people all of the time! You can only please some of the people some of the time!

Gary and Ted, you guys have wild imaginative powers!

I think we should put them to use in the design phase of the 2016 BF knife! :)
Yeah... that's the ticket!

Ok...no big deal, really. Some laughs, good.

May get another forum knife for my son just because I love him. He likes modern folders, which is great, but a little traditional knife knowledge helps to broaden the base of the hobby. Some of you are walking encyclopedic traditional historic amazements. You got involved in the who, what, where and when of the hobby/knife. My son wouldn't. He has no interest in his ancestry so why would he look deeper into a forum knife for that matter? Revisionist history of political correctness, non-offensiveness, is prevalent in our modern educational institutions. What has become of our desire to know the truth in spite of all the fluff disguised as the truth and blindly accepted? Maybe it's just not knowable anymore.

I will get my son the 2015 BladeForums Knife even though it'll just be another knife.

Hey Stand Straight, I used to think traditional cutlery was ugly and uninteresting last year. I wouldn't say that I didn't care about the history, it's just that I never really looked much into it. I started warming to it ever since I bought an Opinel late last year. Then I bought my first GEC early this year and I became a total convert. It's possible that gift will end up being "just another knife", but who knows, it might be the knife that opens his eyes to the traditional world.

Order placed I'm stoked! Thanks for everyone who has helped to bring this knife to life!

I'm sure things are moving along just fine, one thing I learned with the forum knife is order it and forget about it. It'll get here and impatience only causes anxiety. :)

This is what I do as well. Order and forget about it. A few months will go by and a nice surprise will be in the mailbox.
