Gus and me did the work for the knife that year. I like the blade configuration the best, that and the big GEC model from 2012....a nice clip point and wharncliffe do most of the work that needs doing from a traditional slip joint, imo.

I wish the fella that donated the stag the best in life, and hope everything is good for him!

The stamp on the 2009 was designed in Photoshop and pretty much reproduced EXACTLY by Queen Cutlery.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

My sentiments exactly STeven !!
Once again I plainly see proof that great minds think alike! The pattern#74 from Great Eastern in 2012 is right up there as far as my favorites go! I would be hard pressed to choose between the two.

The `09 Barlow is one of my favorites as well !
The Stag was donated, just like lasts years Bladeforums Traditional knife. A unique bolster stamp in Roman Numerals, D-2 blade steel and I do believe the very 1st knife EVER to bare both the Queen tang stamp and the Schatt & Morgan.
I regret missing out on that one. :o

Someone made a list of the prices of the annual knives. Could anyone point me in that direction, or better yet, post it here??

You mean the cost at the time, or the secondary market?

I'm trying to make a history up with pictures and maybe links to relevant threads or polls, there's lots of member pics for each forum knife made, we as members in this community were proud of what we came up with and were more than happy to brag about it. It's just a matter of time looking for pics in old threads and choosing them to one thread, file, what ever.

Who knows, maybe there will be enough info and pics when I'm done it'll become a historical sticky... ;)

Hmm I thought this train was going to Ellenville, NY ? some how it seems to have derailed, maybe it's heading to Bedford Falls? :)

I'd suggest a new thread all by it's lonesome for ALL of the yearly BladeForum Traditional knives through the years, that would be a worthwhile endeavor as a sticky for sure!

My fault! Gary, I agree with you!
There might even be one. If someone less search-challenged than myself could find it, maybe we can ask the Mods to shift these last few posts over, and sticky it for a while??

P.S. Steven, it would be interesting to compare the prices, initial vs. market, but I am not sure that would fly here??!!

I'm pretty sure the 2013 was $135 but now that I said that I'm second guessing myself and it may have been $125... :)

Well how about an update on this year's knife? :)

I talked with Wally this morning, and things are coming together. Unfortunately, as so often happens on custom runs, there is another minor snag he is dealing with; the tang stamp die was delivered and there was a problem with it, so it is being done over correctly.

Most of the scale slabs are cut and paired, and he told me the Bocote was really nice.

I begged him for some WIP photos, and he promised he would get me some. Right now, still not much to photograph as the knives are in bits and pieces, but I hope to have something to post here soon.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, there are only 42 knives remaining of the 300, so, there you go, now you know.:confused::cool::rolleyes:;):D

Thanks for the update and attempting to get pics. I think the knives in bits and pieces is exactly the pictures everyone was hoping for.

Just ordered mine!! my first BF knife!! Still kick myself for missing last year

Thanks Barry! :)
That reminds me I need to talk to you................email incoming
