Thanks for bringing that to our attention. I totally missed it. It makes the knife that much more special. No one's mentioned one of the coolest details on this knife - Make sure you look under the box top...thank you Charlie!

I can't wait until I can.Make sure you look under the box top.
I'm right there with you. Mine sounds very similar. I appreciate and like the knife and will probably carry it occasionally for the sheep's foot and stainless. Parts of it are nice. Cool to have one of canal street's last knives. Makes me appreciate GEC a lot more though.Mine came today. I got one of the recurve ground blades, with uneven grind on one side. It also hits the backspring, and has the chip in the blade to prove it. I could sharpen it out, of course. But it went in the safe, and will probably stay there until the family has a yard sale after I'm dead and gone.
Received mind on Friday. It is better looking in hand than the pictures I've seen and larger than I had envisioned. Mine has a very slight recurve that could easily be removed by sharpening, which I may do. I also have a slight compression chip in the main clip blade where it hits the spring. The secondary blade makes contact with the liner and displays a tad of roughness on the swedge. The sheepsfoot shaves hair; the main blade doesn't. The blade grind symmetry of the clip is quite nice; the symmetry on the secondary is not.Mine came today. I got one of the recurve ground blades, with uneven grind on one side. We have a family heirloom and a yard sale knife within a few posts. I'd say this is officially the internet

Mine arrived in the mail yesterday. Beautiful knife in a steel I really like. Outstanding packaging with the incredible label and the note on the interior of the box top.
I still haven't decided what to do with mine. I'm of the opinion a knife is not truly a knife unless it is used as intended. Not sure I'll use this one.

Bottom line for me: A beautiful knife. I love the color and grain of the covers. The larger size is a plus for me. The fact of what this knife is; the entire process from conception to completion and being crafted by an historic traditional cutlery company whose doors are unfortunately closing, makes this knife for me, a family heirloom.
