2015 Forum Knife - It's Never Too Early To Think About the Next Blade Forum Knife

Single blade, or a second that is a caplifter/ screwdriver. Good wood or smooth bone. Fits in my watchpocket. EZ open? Lockblade - would be nice but illegal in some places where slippies are OK.

I hope I'm not putting words in his mouth, but here it goes: A Barlow on the 15 is Charlie's thing. Charlie has maintained the #15 Barlow with traditional blades found on this pattern. Sticking with tradition negates putting a top popper on this barlow. I wanted one too, but I can really understand why it's unlikely to happen. That fella has really made the Barlow the hot item it is.... I figure he knows what he is doing with it.

Maybe the Canal Street Barlow or Mike's Barlow could be options.... I will say, that there has already been a barlow featured as a forum knife.

All of that is my own words, but that's how I see it. Anyways, we need a forum peanut..... 1095 and Appaloosa bone would be quite nice on it!

Could be either a #77 or a #15 and I would think that neither Charlie's "TC" or Mike's "NF" logo would need to be on the bolster. A beerlow with Blade Forum's "BF" logo on the bolster would be highly appropriate.

A personal opinion and devils advocate;

We've had a barlow already. I like that we've chosen something different every year, let's keep that up. But if it must be a barlow, please don't put a caplifter on it.

Here is T's great group shot of the past knives, maybe will help on what should come next?

Awesome post worth repeating.

I would love to see a gunstock jack in a size that would be legal to carry in most all of our members jurisdictions.

2011 GEC EO Jack with caplifter blade and Jigged bone scales, it's the 6th one from the left in the picture above.

I agree Paul. I would like to see a swayback knife in the 3 3/8" frame size with a spear blade. I would love to have it handled in Elephant Ivory if the laws changed and it was cost effective. Just wishing.

No barlows please.
Price point seemed to be a concern in the past and with GEC being priced higher than others is it possible to look elsewhere?
Canal Street with their great steels or Queen with their D2.
Im surprised the stockman as popular as it is hasn't been done. A proper stockman. Maybe a railsplitter but then maybe that wont meet a certain pricepoint

As much as I love GEC and own the largest private collection of them in the Illawarra region of N.S.W. or possibly even N.S.W. as a whole -:yawn:
I'd like to see a different manufacturer make 2015.
There, I've said it.

second this

Stockman? How about a Cattle Knife? I don't care who makes it as long as it's good!

I believe the stockman was done in 2009.

The Stockman was done in Burnt Stag by Northwoods in 2008.

I don't own a Lanny's Clip or a Peanut, but I would love to have one! And those are knives that might be done for <$100 U.S. And they could both be legal in most jurisdictions. And they could be produced by most traditional manufacturers.

I would agree with Dr. Scott. It looks like most were "mediumish" sized knives. It seems it maybe time for a small or large knife. Personally, I would prefer a smaller knife. I would likely not buy a large knife. I of course, would be happy to acquire 9, 15, 22 or 25s in just about any combination of blade/covers. That's not the only patterns I would consider. :D

I haven't read through this whole thread, so please forgive me if this has already been posted. It seems there is a few hoping to see GEC come out with a Scout Utility knife, it would cool to see this as a forum knife done at the same time, if GEC would decide to make while in production. Just a thought, though I am sure not original. :D
