2015 Forum Knife - It's Never Too Early To Think About the Next Blade Forum Knife

So no interest in a beerbelly (sowbelly with cap lifter)?? ;) :p :D
I'd love to have a beer belly knife to go with my beer belly! Even with a Wharncliffe secondary, I love the looks of that sowbelly... single spring would make it perfect in my book.

...I would love to see what that looks like. Hard to imagine. Has it ever been done?...

Rough Rider has some unusual stock knives with cap lifters but I don't think they made a "beerbelly". It would be an oddball. It might be fun to throw one together from the parts of two Rough Rider knives. For the forum knife, I'd prefer a clip blade and sheepfoot.

There does seem to be enough demand to warrant another regular production run of the radio knives.

Here's an interesting 3 5/8" Balloon Pen. I found a cut in the 1937 Schrade Catalog "E" supplement.
It's a pattern 7633 (inked on the back as well!). Schrade called the blade a "Zulu Spear"!

Borrowed from another thread.

I'm still partial to that knife that Canal Street showed us.
Clip and sheepsfoot. A winning combination.
Just about the perfect knife for me.

Case called me today!!
They would like to propose a couple of possibilities for a BF knife!!
They are OK with a single spring configuration which I suggested keeps the playing field level, and so far seems to be acceptable with most members here. They will get back to us with some options! CV (carbon) or Stainless!!
They are willing to stamp it with our stamp!!
The pattern must be one they make, so we await their proposals.
Nice to have them aboard, I'd say!
How about you folks??

Catching up on this thread, this is great news Charlie, it also show that our little community has an effect on the industry. I love the single spring idea and it would be great to see a single spring sea horse with secondary spear , not too far from a pattern Case actually manufactures.

It is down in my mailbox waiting for me to pick it up. I'm going Wednesday.

I'm all for the Canal street option. It is a very usable pattern and is definitely unique, and will fit in very nicely with the current forum knife lineup.
Especially if it's done in stainless, as most of the forum knives that have been made so far have been carbon.

Yeah the CSC is a great option and I really like the idea of a shadow pattern. Something new and not done yet!

I kike the CSC offering too. Would like to see it with Gabon ebony, tip bolsters and SUNK JOINTS. Still very interested to see what Case and GEC bring to the table

Just to refresh our memory. :)
Sorry if the information is slow in coming! The Case executive I have to talk to is still traveling. I may not speak to him before the Oregon show this weekend coming.
True to form, Canal street has offered an actual prototype!
They do beautiful work, but are less flexible than GEC (who do a lot of in-house engineering) I asked them to propose a knife, suggesting that a single spring two-blade might be the ticket, along with our under $100 final cost requirement.
Here it is!

A little different, and pretty nice!!
I believe they will offer stainless or carbon, and I don't know the wood yet.

IMO, Case needs to come up with a really good one to beat this Canal Street offering, as this one is SWEET! ;)

I'm late in replying to the discussion, but that Canal Street shadow pen is growing on me.

I also vote "no" on a caplifter on the forum knife.

Others are welcome to vote yes.

I'm noting how beefy that single back spring is, and that's a good thing.
Anyone that has had a back spring break on their knife will know that will almost render the knife useless. :(
