I grew up in New Orleans. They'd forecast temps below 40 and everyone would start breaking out the arctic survival gear.

35 degrees here in the greater Brazos Valley.

Community wooly mammoth hunt to commence shortly.

Wednesday morning i ordered a new wallet. That Flipside 3X wallet i posted the video of. A little disappointed that it hasnt shipped yet. I waited 3 weeks for them to get back in stock before ordering and I ordered once i got the email that they were back in stock ready to ship. The main reason im upset that it hasnt shipped yet is because the company is literally 20 miles from here. I could of walked and picked it up and then walked home quicker than they even boxed it up to ship.

I use to work in a warehouse as the head inventory specialist. I handled ALL shipping and receiving of wind turbine parts for the company Florida Power and Lights and shipped to everyone of their wind farms in the country. I was the only inventory specialist in the warehouse. I shipped over 50 items some days, and over a few million dollars worth of items every week. Never ONCE did i NOT ship an item within 24 hours of ordering unless it was ordered Saturday after i went home, in which case it still shipped first thing Monday morning. So when it takes a company several business days to ship a single small item that is in stock ready to ship it bugs me. They didnt have backorders to fulfill, i know this because my wife tried to order me one of these wallets for Xmas and since they were out of stock they wouldnt even let you put an order in for the new batch.

Blah blah blah... Give me my wallet.

On a lighter note..... I still want one of those IM Corona Old Boys. HAHA get it? a lighter note LOLOLOLOL

On a funnier note.....

"What’s the worst trick you can play on a blind man?"

"Leave the plunger in the toilet."

Fried catfish, fried okra, and sweet potato for dinner tonight.

I trained my wife well.

:D

WW - congrats on the wife training! It's a lot of work but it pays off big time!!!;)
Also, I was checking out those Old Boy lighters and found a much cheaper knock off made by Zikar. I have no idea how good they are but at 1/5 the price it might be worth a shot.

I'm coming to your house. That sounds great!

Your more than welcome brother!!

I seen those "Mr. Brog" knock-off versions for sale at around 25 bucks. I also seen the Xikar Pipeline lighter that are similar designed but cheaper than the Coronas as well.

I almost ordered the "Mr. Brog" one... But i just dont want to judge a timeless design that a lot of people call the best lighters in the world by going off a knock-off version. Since i have already used a real corona and loved how it worked im worried the knock-off versions may not be as nice and ill be left disappointed. If/when i get one it will be the real deal.

Id like to tell myself that ill never spend 100 bucks on a lighter.... But now that they are in my head i doubt ill be able to stop myself from getting one before too long.

I'm currently testing 9mm's to see what I like. When I started with handguns, it was all 45, so I've pretty much stuck with that. Now I picked up a 357 and am thinking about a 9mm for easier loading / higher capacity. Recommendations welcome...

IWI Jericho
Beretta m9
Glock 19
S&W m&p
SIG 226 / 8
CZ ...uh crap I forgot the model...but a nice gun non the less.

Id hold them in the hand before you buy to see which one you like the best

I don't know enough about the Jericho to say one way or the other but the rest I know have a good reputation.

I believe folks who do this should have the entire brick shot into their extremeties so that they die slowly....

According to one clerk a a local Academy Sporting Goods store, employees of at least one local gun shop used to show up at opening time and buy the 2 brick/box limit of .22LR to then take back to their stores to sell at inflated prices... Another reason that I tend to avoid gun shops as well as gun shows.

I believe you were recalling bigghoss finding some deals, but they were at gun/pawn shops as opposed to gun shows.

I just don't pay more than pre-shortage prices for .22 ammo. If that means not shooting my .22's for a while then so be it. If most people could bring themselves to do the same then this kinda thing wouldn't happen.

And yeah, last year all my guns were from shops. I used to go out weekly looking for deals. Might have to start doing that again.

Whats up fellers? Hope everyone has a good weekend and stays warm. It got in the 40's here. It felt good walking my daughter to school in shorts and flips. You should see Floridians get bundled when it drops below 50! I'm excited to use the new firepit we got, this weekend.

Yeah.. We Floridians are wimps....

Fishing:

The rain was pouring and there was a big puddle in front of the pub just outside the Navy Base. A ragged old Marine Gunnery Sgt. was standing near the edge with a fishing rod, his line in the puddle. A curious young Navy fighter pilot came over to him and asked what he was doing.

"Fishing," the old guy simply said.

"Poor old fool," the Navy officer thought and he invited the ragged old Marine into the pub for a drink. As he felt he should start some conversation while they were sipping their whisky, the smart-ass fighter pilot asked, "And how many have you caught?"

"You're the eighth," the old Marine Gunnery Sgt. answered…

that does sound good ww. enjoy.

Thanks brother! It was delicious!!

I ate more than my share of the okra. Still have some more catfish for later tonight too.

It damn sure should!!!

I wish that guy never brought his over. Had i never seen it i wouldnt want to own one.

But i have spent a nice amount of money on ferro rods. Not sure how i can justify 40-50 for a ferro rod, and get more than 1, but not justify $100 for a top of the line lighter.

Damnit i want one..... but im battling my own brain about it. One side of my brain tries to justify the price, the other side tries to tell me its a dumb investment.

Sorry to hear of your friends loss JT.

Thanks, man, I'll pass that along. I've never met him in person, but he's a good dude. Happily, he has pals all over the world who are wishing him the best. Believe me, that helps some when you're hurting. Sometimes the internet is pretty dang cool :)

Gun show tomorrow. I'm excited.

I'll be there, guns blazin'

that's not actually me, obviously... I haven't been that skinny since sometime around 1983... :D

That dude belongs in a Sally Struthers commercial.

O
My wife's aunt and new boyfriend stopped by for a moment just now. Anyways, this guy had a badass lighter. Its called a Corona Old Boy. It just feels like quality and i like the style and how it functions. He said they are common lighters, especially for pipe smokers as they have a built in tamper and angled flame, but i have never seen one before.

But he said it cost him over 100 bucks  Probably why i never seen one before LMAO but he did say he has had it for over 10 years now without a single issue so i guess you get what you pay for. I want one..... But couldnt see myself spending over 100 on a lighter....

Kinda looks like a knock-off of a Dunhill. They go for about $800 but you can find some cheaper models for around $400.

Engrish preez.
His is a strange language, forged in the world of geek-speak flame wars, sharpened on the grinding wheel of time and honed on the strop of mere mortals worthless backsides. The Great Bla-dee-tay is often inscrutable. He may even be saying something....important. We may never know.
