I'm convinced all those numbers and percentages and BMI's and so forth are largely nonsense. There are just too many factors involved, to wrap it up in one cute tidy little chart. I've known little scrawny dudes who absolutely kick behind all day long, and huge burly guys who can bench a freaking Buick once, but get winded by climbing allllll the way up into their pickup truck.
Sure, baselines are good to start from, but seriously now... if mountainmist does 25 pushups in a minute and I do 20 in 60 seconds, does that mean he's "stronger" than me? Hell no, cuz I had to move twice as much weight twice as far![]()

I most definitely WOULD use my legs as an example. Before I had my knee blown out from under me I was MUCH better with squats and leg presses than bench presses. To the point I was benching about 100-125% my body weight, but squatting almost 400%. Mind you this was also when I was playing football and was in the gym for 4 hours a day, every day.... I wasn't very fast, I wasn't very graceful, but I had a low center of gravity, and I had legs that looked like trees. Still do actually, but I don't get to show it as much anymore cause I my knee will randomly dislocate when doing things... like walking.I'll get back to you on that in about 10 years....

Seriously though, I can't deadlift 135% of MY body weight! I'll take bench over squats/deadlift any day. Plus, when you're in a position when you can tactfully demonstrate certain physical traits without looking like a complete showoff to an aesthetically pleasing young lady, you (or at least I) am not going to use my legs as an example.....![]()
