2016 forum knife ordering thread - SOLD OUT

mine just came in, well Charlie's SFO did. and man that tube was tight. the tube was harder to open than the knife! :D

here it is all taken out

there she is

oh yeah ;) the iceman cometh

I am pleased with my example, cant wait to see my 2016 blade forums knife!

I'll need to read back, because I'd like to know if it's been ascertained whether or not that it's a flaw or a feature that the forum knife's awl can't be opened unless the blade has been opened first.

The awl on mine opens fine and without catching or rubbing whether the spearpoint is open or closed.

Awl/punch wouldn't open at all when I first got mine. Now, all is fine, both blades easily open with the other blade closed. Action has smoothed up after flushing with oil and just opening and closing the blades.

Got mine today and I absolutely love it. The blade and punch both open with zero rub.

I wish all GECs came with this weight of blade pull because it's absolutely perfect and I'm not risking breaking my thumb nail off to open the knife.

Thanks for making this happen.

Yeah, mine functions perfectly with no blade rub and it arrived that way. The awl/punch was a little tighter on arrival than I would have liked but flushing and working and then oiling it has resulted in a very smooth albeit firm action now. It opens just the same with spear open or closed. Pull on spear about a 5 and the awl/punch about a 7. Both snap shut with no problem or assistance. I am loving this EE single spring #35 Drover! Thanks Charlie, Barry and GEC. Very well done:thumbup::thumbup: Lloyd

I apologize to all of you having this issue, but please be patient until Charlie and Bill have a chance to discuss the issue. We will do whatever is humanly possible to make everyone happy with their purchase.

No need to apologise to me Barry, I just posted this in another thread but thought I'd put it here too;

"We have touch down in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. A beautiful specimen with no issues whatsoever and a surprising sharp edge!

Many thanks again to GEC, Charlie, Barry, Liam and all the BF members who voted on this pattern and assisted in producing another beautiful forum knife.

Paul"

I ended up with 2 of the forum knives AND 1 of Charlie's SFO's. Above and beyond any issues, I feel very fortunate to be a part of this community; with all the work & hassle involved with a forum knife every year (which is all DONATED time), we're all very lucky to live in the time we do and participate. I hope we can continue this tradition in the future, and that we're not scaring any of the volunteers away from taking the helm in 2017 and beyond.

Every knife I have under $500 has some kind of imperfection, and these are no different. However - for what they are, and what they represent, I couldn't be happier. Thank you very much to all those involved in making this happen!!!!

Finally one of my 35s showed up!! In all honesty it was only 9 day's witch considering I live in Canada that's not bad really. I got the Blade Forum Version today and I am very pleased. It's got no sticky punch issues at all with the spear blade opened or closed. Also I got lucky on the covers being a nice dark color and the worm grooves are single lined and shallow. Witch is everthing I was hoping for and then some. I think this is the Version ill be keeping. Thank you once again Charlie, Berry, Bill and anybody else involved in the bringing of this Cool knife to reality. It's a beauty :D

I ordered late and haven't received a shipping email. Is anyone else still waiting? I don't want to bother Barry with an email if others are still waiting too. Thanks.

Post a photo t. willy! Would love to see what the darker color looks like considering most I have seen are the more golden honey colored bone with perhaps some darker brown accents. Mine doesn't have much "burnt" in it. Thanks, Lloyd

I'm not waiting and I could be wrong but I think Barry has shipped all the knives he had. Yours might be one of the knives still in production at GEC.

I ordered late, no email either. i believe itll be the later batch

Okay, thanks everyone - I'm waiting patiently. I was guessing he hasn't shipped out the second batch, but wanted to double check. Thanks again...

I ordered late too, couldn't stand it any longer and snagged one off the "For Sale: Individuals" area last night. I'm sure the wait will be worth it!
