2016 forum knife ordering thread - SOLD OUT

already stabbed myself with it!  dont by shy, cmon guys who else got poked by the punch

Mine is also at GEC for repair. I never got poked the short time it was in my possession but that was only due to extreme caution.

I think Duncan's story takes the prize so far. Below is a quote from Duncan copied from the "Magnificent HJ" thread. Duncan, I hope you're okay! :)

"The punches are insanely sharp, with the 9's having trouble of the punch sticking when the Main is closed...well Oh Boy did I learn about this last night!! I picked up my HJ9 and felt a pain lashing through my finger immediately looked and saw the punch embedded into my finger - I shook my hand as a reaction and the knife remained a part of me- thats how deep it went in lol Whew! it's still a nice reminder that I should get down to the garage and start to free this Punch up slightly."

Here's some pics of the 3 I have, really love the covers on each one, I feel like I got a good bit of variation in the colors and the Indian trails. They are a really nice size knife that are unobtrusive, light, and feel great in the hand. Can't wait to see one of these in a whittler variation possibly with a punch. Huge thanks to everyone that made this year's knife possible!

The top one I snagged off the forum because I couldn't wait till the other two arrived, it was from the original batch. I wasn't going to send it back to GEC but it seems like the punch and blade have issues are getting worse. At first I could barely get the punch to open at all without the main blade being open, and now the the punch won't close correctly and the main blade has lost most of its snap when you close the blade. Definitely going back to GEC in the AM, purdy knife either way though!

Three nice variations in color there. Tend to like the dark one I think. Won't see mine till tomorrow.

Got it! Thanks again Barry, Charlie, and everyone else. She's a beautiful! Darker scales as in the pic above, bottom knife. Evert'in' works great, semi sharp out of tube  ! :D So thin, light, and strong. Maybe SupraT will get a surveyor type pattern yet, out of future models. I think it'll be fun to see what gets made with it from now on. Only thing I didn't consider was the loss of the triple P's, but hey, it works and that matters far more to me. Now which pocket...;)
Thanks, Neal

Loss of the triple P's? Were they ground off as a result of the modification? It doesn't matter to me one way or the other. Just something that I didn't consider either.

Apparently so-at least on mine. I don't know about all of them. If anything I miss the triangular pattern that was on the back of the awl. But so be it. Variations within model? Makes my decision about user or not real easy :D . USER!😎Thanks, Neal

Thanks, Neal.

After I posted I went back a page or two and found Barry's comparison pictures. Looks like it might in fact be a variation in models as the modified and the original both have the triple P etch in Barry's photo.

I'm cool with it either way but I'm also anxious to see whether mine has it or not.

67nick, thanks for sharing the photos of your knives. There's some serious variation in the color there! I really like the darkest one, beautiful knife!

The knives are looking great!!!

Should I be concerned that I haven't received an e-mail with shipping info yet?

No problem, and thanks for the positive comments! Unfortunately, it looks as though my pics disappeared over night... Weird.

Got mine today, thanks Charlie :D Everything is perfect, back spring flush open or closed, about a 4-5 pull on the main blade and a 6 on the awl which is how I like it. Nothing proud anywhere, the scales, bolster and back spring all flush, no gaps and smooth opening and closing. No rubbing or touching, if I have to find something to be wrong and trust me I'm hard pressed to find anything it would be sharpness outta the box. 5 minutes on the strop and it takes the hair right of my arm so I really have no complaints.

To all the folks involved, a heartfelt thank you for another gorgeous Annual knife. Charlie, Barry in fact all the members involved in the process from picking scales to the pattern, thank you for another enjoyable knife, Here's a quick pic, I was on my way to the surgeon for the followup on my rotator cup rebuild, I'll take some better pics tomorrow.

Earl Shibe!!! I remember it when it was $99.95 and made the jump to$199.95. Headshake. Barry! I need to return mine! It's got lint and stuff in it! Wasn't there before, I swear :D ;)
Thanks again so much, Neal

Perfect in every way. Just the cover color I was hoping for. Love the brass liners & pin construction. Don't think those last 30 or so will last long.
Thank you Barry, Mr. Campagna, & GEC for all your hard work.

I got the two I ordered yesterday. I really love them. And just like others, I had to touch the pokey thing myself to see how sharp it is and cut myself. Just a little poke though.
