Even if my favorite is not the victor, whichever gets the most votes is the winner in my book.

When we are only in the hundreds for total votes, a tie should only be considered if exactly the same - not just close.

As far as which option would put up the biggest fight against wood/synthetic, I'm not sure ram or elk will dominate...in the original poll with all options, this is how it looked:

1. Ironwood/burl: 29.8%
2. Elk/buffalo: 19.7%
3. Stag/ram: 14.7%

Looking at the current animal votes, it's hard to tell for sure how buffalo and stag affected those percentages within the groups, but I'm willing to bet that stag (at only $$ at the time) probably gave that group more of a boost than what buffalo did to elk.

My point is, I think ironwood will be tough to beat, and I'm not trying to rain on the ram popularity parade, but I think elk stands up against it better, but it'll be another battle.
 
I changed my vote from elk to ram after seeing some of the elk examples posted here. And after all, it'd be nice to have something that wasn't featured on a previous BF knife, or? In the end I'm just hoping an animal material is chosen as I like them best.
 
We're so close to a 3 way tie - in a way, it would be interesting to see how that would be addressed...but I'd rather not have to deal with another elimination round. With a two way, though, might both options get to the final?
 
It's very confusing with the multiple vote thing. I've only got one vote cast in each category. With this being so close, it seems like time for those with both votes going toward the 3 leaders (ex. elk and ram), or those with no votes going toward the 3 leaders (ex. buffalo and stag), to narrow their selection to just their top choice of the 3 that have a shot (i.e. ram :D)... maybe that would drive out a more clear victor that could lead us to victory over micarta and wood!

I'm afraid that would split the vote, and we'd end up with micarta winning. :eek:
 
I just want to take the time here to point out that way back in the original poll for handle materials, I had picked RAM. Come on, don't let me down now!! :p
 
I chose elk and ram at the beginning. Just dropped the elk vote which tied it up for a few seconds. I sure didn’t see the ram horn making it up to the top, but thats the cover I want most! Fingers crossed!
