Between the two shown, definitely the knobby. But if it did end up leaning smooth (though not looking that way now), I would probably end up polishing it out on my own. I kind of like the look of the smooth highly polished covers that I've seen come out of Buck's Custom Shop. But also feel it's hard to go wrong with high relief knobby elk either. I absolutely love the custom "one off" unique nature of these natural materials.
 
I guess we just watch the clock tick out on this one. I did not think the spread would be so large. Either way we are all winners and it is always nice to see SK Blades getting a thank-you for putting all this together. I am in for what ever comes out.

Pins are a MUST on this interpretation. In fact, the only Traditionals I have that are without pins are some really cheap beaters......

I voted dark/knobby, looks much better, what I picture when I think of elk. I want pins.
Shield take it or leave it.
 
I'd be interested in a question. Does anyone not want pins? I haven't seen any indication of such a desire here yet. Might be able to save us a poll. :)

Normally I am all for letting these poll run so everyone gets a chance to vote and is involved, but there were only 139 more voters total cast in the original materials battle royale poll than have been cast here, and as I type this the knobbly has a 126 vote lead on 214 cast votes.

If it favors skblades to move things along, I vote that we declare this issue decided and move things along.

Agreed.
 
If we end the poll early, the “what ifs” will come up. Better to just let it finish to make sure there is no doubt IMO! I am anxious too, but we should be patient:)
Regarding pins, I think (and hope) that pins will have a resounding victory but Buck has made a lot of pin-less knives over the years that are popular.

Let's have a poll to agree on whether to end polls early! :D:D:D
 
Should change the rules mid-point. Let the polls run as skblades planned and communicated.
 
I haven't heard any support for the no-pins, but I imagine it is probably best to do an official poll about it. Even if it only runs for 48 hours.
