traumkommode No, I meant there hasn't been a Smooth Bone Forum Knife. I have an Oily Creek smooth bone 14 myself.
Ha haYou can wish on for that stainless, GEC won't do it they're rust merchants
No stainless offering from them since 2016
I've heard it's because stainless being so hard takes a toll on their equipment, frankly I have a very hard time believing that

So, for the uninitiated (me) how does this step outside of general conversation and into the planning and implementation stage? Also, is there any room for us to offer assistance in some way or does that constitute too many cooks around the pot?
That's what I thought. Well, if there is any simple grunt work that can be done to lighten the load I'd be willing to help.I think someone(s) will have to step up and get the party started in terms of laying out the options and starting the selection process. I think the only guys who were willing to do it were Charlie and Barry and even they seemed to be a bit spent after last year's endeavor. Probably requires communication with the proposed manufacturer and then letting us all know the options so we can start deciding what we want from there.
Seems there's a lot of interest in stainless and some showing interest in a stockman or small stockman pattern. There's another company who produces such a knife, has the capability to produce the quantity needed, and has produced a forum knife before - Buck. Maybe they would be open to doing a 300 in some sort of special covers. I know the Bucks aren't as popular as Case or GEC, but they may be willing to produce a knife with most of the features being asked for.
Lol! 7 - 12 pretty much applies to anything high end knife related where the customer has input prior to release.1.it gets mentioned and question is asked.
2.wishful thinking phase .very specific configurations are tabled.
3.will anyone do it?
3.5 long period of dark territory .
4.our hero arrives to save the day
4.5 long period of dark territory .
5.polling of choices regarding blades,steel,scales.
6.democratic final decision.
7.lots of whining and saying "im not getting one because i dont like it,too expensive, not what i specifically wanted.etc etc"
8.orders taken and money paid.
9.the winter of the wait begins.
10. Everyone else in the world takes delivery.
10.5.I take delivery of mine
11. "I missed out where do I get one?" phase begins.
12. Profieering vulture phase begins.
Did I miss anything?
A stockman on the #18 frame would be nifty. What about a small stockman? I don’t think GEC has anything smaller than the 66 in their inventory, but small stockmans are a very common traditional pattern.
An ebony 72 lockback with a clip point blade. Please.
