Excerpt from letter from ships journalist and flogger to Lord of the Admiralty:
Dear your Lordship
Life aboard the good ship Forumblade19 is becoming intolerable.
Mutinous rumblings are openly heard on deck. The sails flap uselessly in the breeze.
Navigation is non existent as the rabble of a crew bicker amongst themselves.
We have no Captain and some of the passengers have suggested sailing up the River Don in search of buried treasure!!
These are desperate times my lord.
I beseech you send us our orders and a worthy sea Captain before we run aground in Disappointment Bay.
Yours faithfully
Jon "Scuttler" Meakin.

According to Leslie’s update in the 2018 forum knife thread, when he talked to Bill Howard last year, Bill said if we get on the schedule early they could do a new or unique pattern for us and that stainless “is a possibility”. I’d link to it, but I’m not that forum savy.

Having said that, I still prefer carbon. I don’t detect the off taste from carbon that some of you talk about, nor does anyone in my family.

The upcoming 29 in red canvas micarta with a diamond shield, PPP etch, would be

We need iron in our diet anyway.

Actually, men generally don't, whereas women generally do:D;)

But anyway ;) Carbon appears to be the usual preference and if that's what the majority vote for I can either accept it or go without a Forum Knife :D I think I have or have had all of them since 2008 bar 09 and 12, so it's not really a problem. The pattern is more important at the end.

I too recall the thing about getting our order/wishes in early with GEC and that we could well get a unique pattern if they can fix the production schedule. Last year it was a 14 model take or leave. With a huge run of 14s in the pipeline it didn't appear individual enough to most members. If the 14 had been reversed as a single-spring Sleeveboard, I think that would've interested a lot of people.

Thinking aloud as usual. A Stainless Bullnose, NS liners with a special Burlap would certainly be unique, attractive yet potential workhorse.

I love the entertainment around here!
Nice account of life at sea, fist mate Meako :p
I advise a rationing of supplies. Keep the grog well hidden as you endure the journey.
Be ever watchful of pirates and continue to use "beseech" whenever possible in your transmissions. I so enjoy the Queen's English. It signifies a man of good character !

The Buck FB chatter is nice but in all reality according to the Poll it looks like it is a slim wish.. :(
