Why would anyone ever do jigging different from that?! And its not even a Northfield....... GEC needs to get back to this style very soon.

On topic, it is now February........... and soon the Ides of March.........

When do real polls begin!?
That is not GEC’s jigging. That is a recovering by @glennbad. It is an example of beautiful jigging that hopefully can used as inspiration.

I thought that was a real poll at the beginning of this thread. Once we have an idea of which manufacturer to go with then we will have a better idea of which dealer can help us.

It isn't an officially sanctioned poll, meaning, it bears no weight on the final outcome of what knife will be produced. However, the powers that be have been working behind the scenes to get the ball rolling. I think the original poll served in a couple of ways:

1. It provided some momentum to those who have the knowledge and authority to get the project completed to get the process started.
2. It provided information on what the forum folks are interested in, which the folks who will ultimately bring the project to completion something to inquire with makers/dealers about.

Even with GEC's usual jigging could we get a new pattern, PPP, etc. from GEC for $100.00 or less?
I know the $100 rule has been put out there, but that is not official. But, if that is what people want then all of GEC’s single blades will come under or around $100. So a single blade 86 would work.

I almost feel like those days are gone, we had a few < $100 knives over the last few years but prior to that we were struggling around that $100.

My commitment is to the concept and as long as there’s a forum annual made, I’ll do what ever I have to, to get one. (Can’t break up a set ;) )

I'm not set on a $100.00 limit but in the comment thread about the 2018 BF knives, there were many comments about the cost of the knife with some saying had it been over $100.00 they would not have been able to get the knife. One comment in particular stood out when one member said it was the first time he had ever spent $71.00 on a knife.

Any idea how many other complete sets there are?

Agree, prior forum knives have been over $100. Hopefully the folks that have control will consider updating. How long has the $100 rule been in place.. 10 years?

Still hoping for a GEC 29 ppp ... pretty unlikely as I usually don't get what I vote for, but it's still a fun process.

The $100 rule may have been in place a long time, but the volume of knives being ordered has increased a lot more than inflation. Surely, if we are ordering 500 knives, we ought to be getting them at a better price than if we order 30?
