All you were doing is virtue signaling... Saying this or that is endangered and thus we shouldn't use them... Are you telling me we can't use pre-ban blanks that are already in the US? Now that it's become endangered we can't use what's already here? This an appeal to emotion and makes no sense.
Not using such a precious material is very wasteful and disrespectful. It is the obligation of mankind who cuts down the trees to create beautiful heirlooms that will last generations so that the tree's life is continued after it is cut down.

Man, what I wouldn't do to be able to have one of these beauties :lol::lol:
 
I will say that one of the most disappointing GEC releases I had last year was the 99 in American walnut. It has brushed bolsters and shied and it looked like :poop:. It was scratched and scuffed out of the tube. Even after I took super fine grit sandpaper and straightened it up, it still didn’t look good.

But- the elk and springfield bone looked amazing. Nice and polished and looked quality.

As much as I think ironwood would be cool- the unpolished wood and brushed bolsters and shield have ruined it for me.

Ill take black and polished.

Makes you wonder. The jig bone or wood was decided by one vote. My assumption at that time was a good number of people vote & don't return to the thread.
 
I didn't know we were making a historical accurate knife here. I'm all in for Blackwood....just kidding. Vote Ironwood if you don't want the same ol same ol!
 
I’d like one in Kangaroo skin covers since Kangaroo’s are highly populated in Australia.
I’m all in for saving a tree or bushes but if that doesnt work Desert Ironwood please :D
Might just buy a Subaru to show my sincerity .

Yes so very childish and some are so very sensitive . Don’t know if your post was directed towards me but it sure appears that way . I think the “sensitivity “ in all areas included and not limited to endangered bushes and trees weighs heavily with me as to why I posted what I did .
This poll seems to be shifted towards more of the Rarity Of wood vs what we like . If your going to throw it on the porch then your going to get other views and comments of those that feel differently wether you like it or not .
Call it childish if you will that’s your choice . I find it more comical via my post in response . Start calling folks childish which in turn you insult them is a great way to get a thread locked with there responses . So you can thank your self for that . Probably would be best you step out vs name calling .

True, John. I wish this had been a three- or four-day poll, like the others. This has MOSTLY been fun. I want to be very careful with what I say, but I do not intend to get too worked up about this. I hope the polls are just about done!
