You cant even show your knife as a member because it has a blade etch? That covers hundreds of different knife brands. So that goes for Case and ESEE or Bark River or Sherade, Queen?

I understand the no advertising or name dropping, but not being able to show your knife because it has an etch on it sounds a little far imo. You guys are the ones making the call, but wow.
I honestly think not being able to show the dealer etch is a little much . I understand no patches or stickers I guess or dealer mentioning of non BF dealers . Not our forum so we don’t set the rules but some of us are paying members. A little disappointed to say the least. I guess they have to make sure there are no crumbs left on the table .

Theres some TKCs right up there one the last few pages, and my M&G a few pages back, whole threads dedicated to Sheffields with etch all over the blade. Manufacturers aren't supposed to advertise any more than a dealer, and every knife on this forum has a manufacturer etch of stamp on the blade and often sheath. Bout have to shut down the forum if we did that. Its crazy.

I'm not trying to be difficult, or whatever either, I said I understand the name dropping (not really but okay) and link sharing, etc, but just because you post a knife with an etch "required by GEC" on any SFO knife, and you cant post pictures of it, thats nuts.

I think I might need to take a break and gather my thoughts instead of holding back on what I would really like to say .

Those coffee house knives look like they are made of candy,
I bet they are sticky like a jolly rancher is you get them wet:p

You can post your knife with the blades closed. Until you get some patina that is.:D:cool:

I really like those coffee house acrylics. Just beautiful. They were long gone by the time I got there. I'm a fan of jigged bone so I think I'll be happy with the jigged red.

Pretty happy with how this one looks, it's a beautiful knife.

Not convinced on the feel of the knife yet, it's a lot more bulky than my normal carry. Think I'll hold on to it a while and see if I warm up to it before I rush to judgement and sell it in a fit of future knife regret.

I’m not a BF dealer but shoot me a pm if your thoughts don’t change .
I might just start buying from non BF dealers from now on .

Lets not forget there are a couple of pretty darned good guys who are dealers here in the BF, dont avoid them and let them pay the price for the BF owners views - and please lets not turn this into a political forum- and lets enjoy GEC and their nice move on yet another nice frame - the 29.
In saying this I respect what you guys are saying- Its just that we have a good place here :)

A follow-up to my previous post. I took my 29 out to my wood shop and it worked great as a marking knife. A slight twist of the wrist and that sheep foot blade snugged right up against anything I wanted to trace and that pointed end got tight into corners. The punch is really great. It makes a nice conical hole perfect for starting a drill bit or screw. At first I thought I wasn't going to be able to locate the tip right on my mark but I hit the center of the X every time. I think this is a great and really useful knife. Beautiful, well made, tools are always a pleasure to use. Humm... maybe I need a second just for shop use? The pics of the stag version on GEC's site look great.

Absolutely but this left a pretty bitter taste in my mouth enough to we’re thats pretty much how I feel . But agreed there are some great bf dealers but I don’t think it’s fair that outstanding non bf dealers should be castrated and not recognized for there CS and product offerings to other bf members to prosper from.
Said my piece I’m done until my next 7 post/ pictures are removed.
