2019 GEC 29 Humpback/Stockyard Whittler Thread

This knife drop saga is great. Like the X files (grabs popcorn)

Why are those maher and grosh knives still in stock? I don’t get it. The price is not that much higher, they look great and an extra blade. The knife world works in mysterious ways.
I like em, especially the ebony. Whats keeping me away is I value the punch a lot, and conversely I have no use for a "flesh blade!"

My snakewood is waiting for me at home. Curious how much I'll really like this pattern in hand. I'm fairly convinced I like the thought of this pattern more than I will like the reality of it, but I'll know soon enough!

I’ll give her a good home if she doesn’t do it for you! :)

It's been a good week

My Snakewood arrived today, night and day over the dissapointing Osage Orange I got and returned earlier.
Great walk and talk and a respectful pull on all blades, I'd say around a 5.5 - 6 with a healthy snap.

Really interesting grain as well, not too stipey which is what I was hoping for

She’s a beauty congrats !

Its your fault you know. Seriously. You said something about how good they looked and I checked my KSF email and looked at those pictures and then looked at another distributors video of it and was like WOW, that really looks like a classic. I'd missed a few of the snakewood sells, but that was what I was originally after. I'm thrilled! As usual pictures just don't do it justice. I do have some nicer pictures but the site won't let me load them and Imgur is being a pita.

Anyway, thanks for pointing it out and thanks for the compliment.

i was on the fence about the 29 because it has a strange profile, and I was worried it was too heavy because 3 springs.

i was wrong, the springs are not overly thick, it has a great feel, middle of the road pulls, and exceptional fit and finish.

TKC has a winner with the new maple series!

I’m glad you like it and it’s a winner in my book for sure.
It’s such a rich color and beautiful grain it’s hard not to like .
