2019 GEC 92 Eureka Jack

My Micarta arrived today... Boy is it NICE!
F&F is well done, my example is ground nice and even, everything about it just says "quality". The micarta is really nice and has a little grip to it. The main blade has a nice 5 pull and the secondary has an easy 4 pull. Both blades 'snap' firmly into place. I like the slightly lighter pull on the secondary, I'm able to reach across the main blade with my index finger and pick the blade out easily. I don't have to re position the knife to get the secondary blade open. It even photographs well. Outstanding!

That is one thing that micarta and brushed finishes do well at - getting photographed. Nice example, John. Micarta on slipjoints isn't really my thing but there is no denying that will make one heck of a user.

These are not the knives you're looking for....;)

Thanks, Micarta isn't my favorite either, but it is durable and has a nice feel to it.

Nice one, John. Great pic, I like that color a lot.

Surprised there are only 2 cover options for Northfield. I really like long pulls on the spear blades. Hope I get a chance at a Camel bone version. Was hoping for a couple of Bone options in the Northfield trim.

My elderberry came in today, haven't been home to get it but its waiting for me. Saw the pics for the camel bone too though, think I'll have to try to get one of those too. Came out way nicer than what I was expecting when looking at the progress pics

My micarta arrived today, and I have to say I'm very pleased. All the mechanicals are right on and the F&F is great. It has the smoothest walk of any GEC I've handled...in my limited experience. I really like the old school, working man, utilitarian look of it.

If I had any complaint, it would be blade sharpness, its surprisingly dull, but the edge grinds look nice, straight and even so it shouldn't take too long to put a real edge on it.

I'm on "standby" for a camel bone, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Looked at this knife and thought about it but when I went back a day later they were sold out. Got an email from knife dealer today and just purchased one with the green micarta. I think the green micarta gives it a classy look.
