2019 GEC 92 Eureka Jack

Interesting to see the secondary corner complaint come up. I typically experience the same issue (and have complained about it on BF before, haha), so much so that I have sold off any 2-blade GEC jacks. I had never held a 92, so I have one on order, but this doesn't bode well for me. Oh well. I'm happy for those that are ok with it, because these are all looking beautiful so far.

Thank you Dylan. Yes it is. Of course I won’t know if I get this one til it arrives, but this one looks like antique Bone.

I won't know until next week which one I will be receiving. It is almost like Stag or Rams Horn, so much variety, I never know precisely what I will end up with.

Yes, I too am anxiously waiting to get mine. Very curious about exactly what color(s) the accents will be.

Interested by the comments on the sharp tang on the minor blade. As others have pointed out, a minute or two with a suitable sharpening rod or file will sort that out. Remember to tape the bolster though.

The first run with side by side opening did not show this kind of fault, where the minor blade's tank impedes comfortable grip. Possibly because it's on the other side? Nor did mine present any opening problems at all, the Master blade's nick was well placed & accessible.

Tried to jump on these ^^^.....swing and a miss! Enjoy Harvey!!

Thank you, Peter. May you also get one, eventually.:)

This Just In...:)

They were kind enough to send images of my knife. It’s not the rotten banana look, but I’m quite happy. The Autumn Gold Bone for my tastes, is a beautiful color. The cover looks like it will be smooth the touch.

That is a beautiful knife. Guess I'll have to wait til someone decides they don't want theirs... missed the "reserve" on this one.

Just curious - did you specify anything regarding the knife scales in your order for the knife? Almost forgot to mention this: your knife looks awesome.

Thank you Bill. I did request after not believing that I got one. But They’re very efficient in packing up orders as they come in, so by the time they got my request, it was too late. Still very happy as I Hope most will be. This wasn’t a reserve 92. It was from a quick drop.

hornetguy hornetguy - Thank you. Hope you eventually get one, too.

Because it is a two blade knife. Most GEC collectors want a 3.5" to 4" closed knife. I bought the #92 elderberry and I am waiting on the camel bone #92. I would be buying every one if they were in single blade. That goes for the #86 knife too. GEC made 400 each on the #29s and those are still around. GEC goofed on the snakewood/bloodwood quantities . GEC dealers are Stuck with #29s ! GEC made too many #97s. The #93s were the perfect knife. GEC should made more choices in 600 quantities. GEC is making more numbers in the #92 than the #93 run. I said Dealers will be stuck with some #92s for two years. And everybody laughed ! #92 Turtle shell acrylic knives , those will be slow sellers like the #66 turtle acrylic knives. Look at the 44s , OD micarta two blade knives all over the GEC web-sights. I know the #12 toothpick single blades were in low numbers and those did not fly. I think buyers want a little beefier single blade style knife. I want to see more GEC#23 , #42 , #43 , #47 , #63 ,#64 , #72 , #73 , #74 , #76 , #77 , #78 , #83 , #85 , #92 , #93 , and #99s in single blades. More knives in liner lock , lock back , and swing guards styles would be nice. I would really go fool for #85 no heal bolster single spear blade liner lock knives. I won't hold my breath. GEC needs to quit making these weird acrylic acquired taste knives. Go with some beautiful rich color acrylic choices.

I think there is some accuracy in your assessment.... although I would question your conclusion that most GEC collectors want a single blade knife. From the comments I have read in several different threads, it sounds as if more folks really like the two-blade, and even 3-blade stockman/whittler choices. Having one blade sort of limits them, where having multiple blades gives them the clean/dirty blade option, among other benefits.

I don't know for a fact, but isn't GEC making larger runs now? That could account for the slower "sell-outs" of some model runs?
