Sorry Kevin, but $100 will get you just about any knife they still make in a factory in Sheffield. If the knife were to be made in Sheffield, I would expect the price to be very good indeed because the order is a relatively big one for them, and prices are still relatively low there. The price, however, would largely depend on what sort of knife people wanted, and if they want to have one made in Sheffield. The latter question is probably the first thing to decide, because there have been lots of other suggestions. All I'll say is that, in my opinion, Sheffield should be considered as a viable option, and I would be willing to help, with the assistance of a US dealer (as previously outlined). Since the issue has come up for some reason, I would not require any form of compensation, payment, or profit. For now, I'm not going to answer any more questions relating to Sheffield, and I'm certainly not going to answer any questions relating to knives which are not the forum knife
I am all in for a Sheffield and definitely hope that is on the table for the 2019 knife. Thank you for offering to help coordinate sir :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Got mine in my pocket now, along with an ebony GEC #15 (courtesy of @r redden). Fantastic knives.

I wonder how many forum knives are sold each year? And were more sold last year because Buck was involved? Seems like there were a lot of buyers that are never seen on the Porch.

I was going by an estimate of this year’s numbers. It’s my first ride on the go around so it will be interesting to see if interest wanes should a Sheffield be chosen.

I'm not big on the recurve blades, but a Sheffield tackler or lambsfoot would be really cool.

If we go Sheffield, I would prefer a Tackler with a Wharncliffe blade or a Barlow with a clip blade.
By the time this forum knife rolls around I should already have a couple of Lambsfoot knives, so I'd want the forum knife to be something different than what we already have readily available. And I'm still on board if we want something from GEC.

I love the idea of something from Sheffield, but maybe a two-blade or one of the non-lambsfoot patterns or maybe stainless. I only say this because the Guardians knife would feel redundant.

I would also implore everyone that wants a lambsfoot should definitely go to the Guardians thread and try to get in on this year’s because they’re gonna be amazing.

Either way, Thank you Jack Black Jack Black for making yourself available to help on this.

Joe

I'm open to any quality folder really.

Right now Sheffield has a lot of steam, and I'm on board. I'd love to get my first one, and think the Tackler looks simply superb.

Whether we go Sheffield or not, and regardless of pattern, I hope we can dress it up as much as sensibly possible within our ~$100 limit.

Saving money is good, and gaudy is bad, but sometimes a little extra can make a huge difference (cough cough lined bolsters on the Buck cough cough).

Sheffield and GEC are my top two choices.

I really enjoy following this thread every year, as I know everyone is passionate about this subject. It seems most years the discussion can get pretty heated and this becomes the most un-porch-like thread of the year. I’m glad it has remained very civilized this year. I’m looking forward to seeing what we come up with. I’d be excited for a GEC or something from Sheffield.

Hey now! We're only eight days into the new year, don't jinx it ;)

There is plenty of time for the denizens of Porchenburg to get out the pitchforks and torches...

How about a Lambsfoot and a clip.

That knife has it ALL! Sign me up! OH

So far from what's been discussed, I'm in the boat for an Old World Sheffield made knife in a unique pattern, with premium characteristics.
