knifeswapper knifeswapper Any chance you can get TFG on board to manage the import to Europe? Since you've collaborated with them before and I've got nothing but good experience with them.

I do think that a knife with a sheepfoot saber ground blade will be a dog so maybe we can get Plaza Cutlery's (now out of business) permission to stamp/etch a dog paw on the blade and maybe even put a dog paw shield on the cover. Half heartedly kidding here.

I'm curious with how many request I have seen for a different blade shape and/or grind how many GEC voters will be disappointed assuming we are locked to a Saber ground Sheepsfoot?

everyone voting was aware of the blade grind based on the drawing in the first post, so it would be surprising if a lot of GeC voters are wishing for something different.

I have a number of sheepfoot knives, but none with saber grind. I wouldn't mind trying one out for myself. Maybe it won't make much of a difference; maybe it won't slice well at all, and will only be suited to chopping rope. Maybe I'll have wavy spam and waffle fries. That doesn't sound too bad to me.

No, wavy spam and waffle fries don't sound bad at all especially with molasses over them but bear in mind that wavy spam doesn't lay flat on a plate or nestle into waffle fries well.

No way!!!!! Spam is great and the sodium makes it taste just that much better.

I'm 75 years old and have never exercised all that much, never paid particular attention to what I ate, plus I smoked for 50-years or so (quit in 2001) and I'm still standing. There are a lot of health nuts, joggers, and never smokers laying face up in a grave or crispy in an urn that kidked off in their 30s 40s, 50s, etc.. The guy that started "Running Magazine" died while jogging in Hawaii at about the age of 35 or so.

I'll just keep my salt, glutens, etc. and do just fine. Just don't make me slice my Spam with a swedge ground blade.;)

Serrations are more traditional than saber grinds on straight edge folding knives so maybe GEC ought to look into adding serrations instead of the saber grind.:eek:o_O
You know, just to keep it traditional and all.;)

I’m 81 and use the opposite track from you. I spend a lot of time keeping fit. But I suspect my efforts are in vain. The real enemy is gravity. As you go along pieces start falling off and the carburetor gets clogged.
I like to intervene with fate and enjoy doing it, just as I enjoy this thread. Even though it matters little. It gives me feeling of participation!
I haven’t eaten spam since once in 1956. So I am amazed at your culinary tenacity.
When I’m on my deathbed I can’t imagine I will be saying: “God, I wish I had bought more knives with Micarta”!

I actually didn't see the pic until after I voted - bet there are people that missed it. There actually is a post on the first page or so of someone talking about other blade shapes

Plaza Cutlery is still in business. They just closed their physical location. They are still active - had a couple interesting SFO's recently...Medford and CRK Halloween knives.

Well yes, I have one of those. (me, too!) It's a Traditional Forum Knife made by Buck. :)

Yes, that's what I meant. I always thought this was the "Traditional forum knife" but maybe it's the "traditional Forum Knife"
Has the Buck Forum ever hosted a Bladeforums knife? Perhaps in the future, the other subfoums should take turns hosting an official forum knife. Next year a Buck, after that Spyderco, or perhaps the Kitchen Cutlery or Multi-tool forums could take a turn as host. I'd buy a Bladeforums stamped kitchen knife.
Apologies if I interpreted your meaning incorrectly ! I Blade adult beverages !:)

Rey! Spam will always be spam no matter how it’s cut;)...

Non-existent problem?

In the first post of this thread, the OP said; "One caveat for our foreign members, Mike can’t ship overseas. So if he ends up being our vendor, something will have to be worked out. We don’t have an answer to that issue at this time."

So you're saying now that you can ship overseas and that overseas shipping will not be a problem?

No, I am saying that something not yet expounded is not a problem - it is a matter of thought when the time is right. It is curious how everything not answered becomes a problem to those looking for a problem and simply something that will come to those that have a little faith.

African Blackwood would be my top choice. I also wouldn't mind seeing a real nice jigged bone using the dark blue from the recent #6 pemberton run. In the end, no matter what is chosen, I'm excited about this run.
